MacBook Pro battery now says 'replace now'. It's 3 years old and I didn't take the best care of it, 1004 charge cycles. Do I NEED to replace it? Never really use it unplugged anyway now due to shit battery life. Also, are the batteries off of eBay okay? Apple charge £100 for one which is rediculous. would also be interested to hear what the ebay ones are like, mine's dead. also i think my charger port is broken/worn, the charger has to be at a very specific angle to go amber and start charging. |

I'd be a bit careful about the HK battery fakes, most are ok but if they're not, you have crispy fried macbook action. If your machine's in warranty / applecare you can get it swapped out for free with that |

Anyone recommend a Mac repair shop in London? Need my display on my MacBook repaired, Apple store have quoted 280£ which is ridic. |

Had the battery replaced in my 2010 MacBook Air bout 2 months ago, paid £100 at apple. All going well, now the MagSafe adapter has no light and won't charge the damn thing. |

All going well, now the MagSafe adapter has no light and won't charge the damn thing. my macbook charger stopped working, borrowed my girlfriends charger and then when I went back to my charger it started working again.. it happened once before about 4 months ago and the same solution fixed it. Odd but might be worth a try at least |

@ gizmo. You should try going into an apple shop and just saying that it stopped working all of a sudden. I got a replacement magsafe charger for free. No questions asked. |

Question re education discount. If get someone to hook me up presume the mac has to be registered in their name? I'm not eligible but my mate is a teacher. I'm going to need to go with them to store and pay for it, just wondering can I do that and them from a warranty perspective can it be registered in my name Cheers |

Warranty is registered when you login and set it all up. Get the applecare for £50 as it's a bargain and register the computer at home when you set it up and it's all good. |

If you order it online (via the Education Store) you get a 3 warranty as standard. |
