Going to get plumen bulbs for them, just need to get someone to install them and not mess the ceiling up

Not sure I like the large pieces, a classic parquetry floor is made up of tons of small pieces.

The size of the pieces is usally propertional to the size of the room, in a big room the pieces can be very big.

Nice leemc77. I've just recently put a couple of these up in the kitchen:

On some of this red cable:

I wanted to put a couple of those Plumen bulbs in but wasn't sure if they would 'go' (I also wired in the cable and light fittings myself and wanted to know that it all worked properly before I started blowing £20 light bulbs every time I switched the kitchen lights on).

in a old skool terrace house is it possible to knock through stairs that run parallel to the front of the house that divide a lounge and dining room?

I think it depends of what is holding-up your floor joists for the first floor, if they are resting on the two walls that frame the stairs then it will be a pain, though i think they usually run parrallel to the front of the house ?

should be possible but it will depend on the layout of the walls and existing beams.
PM a structural engineer or surveyor

Beedub - any examples? ive looked in loads of places and cant find anything decent. I always swore id only ever get a terrace with sidewall stairs and ive now done the opposite.

My parents have that in one of their rental properties. Can get pics if you want (not exactly exciting/worth seeing though)

no its an enclosed one with brickwork going up the sides...thats all I know at the mo. but the walls do appear to be just brick and dont appear to be that thick. Access to an under stair cupboard on one side too....so reckon 1 side could def be knocked away...just wondering about the other side.

I know this isnt the best question and will all depend - just want to know if people have seen it done or have examples in a victorian terrace.

My future brother-in-laws place has had it done, I'll see if I can get a pic of it- interior/ decoration isn't that great though. All the others that I've seen are from just walking past houses and seeing it through the windows (no peeping tom).

You need to see if the walls are load bearing really. i.e., carrying the weight of upstairs walls or carrying the weight of the floor.
