Interview attire - what would you wear?

After applying for jobs as a runner since summer, I might have finally got a break as I've been shortlisted for an interview with a top London Post-Production company at the end of next week.

I really want this job to get my foot in the door and I want to make myself look as presentable as possible. As its a post-production company, its unlikely that people wear suits. I feel that wearing a suit might be too much, so I'm a little unsure what I should wear. I want to look as professional as possible, what would people recommend?

Cheers.

Wear a whistle for an interview.

Trying to second guess what they think you should be wearing is a jokers game imo.

Don't think I have anything that would come under a classy outerwear coat at the moment.

Wear a suit !
I am probably wrong but i never go to an interview without wearing a suit, if you think the people that are going for the job are thinking the same and are thinking not to wear a suit, wear one just so you look that bit more professional

...or like a travelling salesman Smiling

i reckon you should try a shirt/trousers/tie combo in fairly muted colours and make sure your hair, nails and shoes are amazingly clean. to me that says "he's made an effort, but he knows we're not lawyers"

good luck.

Well that's the thing, its always better to be overdressed than underdressed and if I was wearing a suit could always remove the tie at the last minute if I thought that was the case.

It's boggling as to which is the best option though.

the only runners i've met usually sport jeans and gilets (it gets cold on your way to the shop).

anyways sol, your removable tie idea seems like a good one - just make sure the suit is tasty and is clearly not something that doubles up as a wedding outfit.

I'm probably going to buy a new one actually. All I've got right now is this four button one which I don't think looks that great anymore.

Any suggestions for a new suit... colour, details etc. High-street one as well as I dont want to spend a fortune.

Wear a suit.

I never wear a suit for my job but I wouldn't dream of turning up for an interview not wearing one.

Always over dress, or dress smart. Suit and Tie.

Regardless of the job, a bright green shirt would go down well.

Rich, I remember when I applied for Spirit of the North, Scott said he decided to hire me right away because I Was the only one ever to come wearing a shirt and tie to an interview. Laughing out loud
