some 17 year old kid has managed to do it and gives instructions on his blog, infact eh did it live, and posted on his blog as he did it put the phone up for auction on ebay also news interview with kid - http://www.breitbart.tv/html/4823.html blog - http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/ AT&T and Apple must be PISSED! apple shares rose 2.5%, they reckon the kid is the reason why |

i think apple wont mind but at&t and yes bcause obviously it means people wont have to use their service to use the phone. dont think it will matter when it comes over here, i doubt apple will only supply to one network exclusively. smart kid btw. |

I read that it was going to be t mobile exclusive (i think it was tmobile anyway). apple wont care because at&t will have allready paid them a fortune for the rights. |

^^ ah ok. theres been alot of iphones on ebay saying unlocked though so i dont understand why this is big news? If it was the only one other than his own i could understand the bidding being so high because at&t would want it so badly. He must have done it for his friends though. |

its only 50k because he is selling it as a "piece of history". why would at&t want it? he's released the firmware and instructions on the net, anyone can unlock an iphone now. |

all contracts are becoming 18 months, and 279 is not bad for a new fone of that magnitude and you always pay apremium for being first. |
