Jumper for less than £50?

Can anyone recommend a plain coloured jumper with a round neck that costs less than £50 and will retain its shape for one day before being washed?

I bought one from GAP that was £40 and is a wool/cash blend but it has no shape - elbows saggy get me?

Any ideas?

I got a jumper from Uni Qlo in the end.

£25, nice fit, 85% cotton, 14% cashmere & 1% wool.

It says dry clean only.

Is that a recomendation or is it the law?

Man, that sucks.

Dry cleaning is like a tax on clothes. I have to pay a fiver everytime I want to wear it.

i know but to be fair, all jumpers are like that...just wear it loads and keep fabreezing it before you dry clean it...its the only way round it.

dont worry, ive got a viktor and rolf top which is wool, silk cashmere and its dry clean only yet handwashing it has had no adverse effects as far as i can see. Ultimately, a 25 quid top does not deserve a dry clean each wear, just hand wash carefully. Only if its a suit or a top u've paid in excess of say 150-200 can i see their being any long term benefit. Plus if you dry clean, it'll slowly pull out of shape yet handwashing returns the original shape.

How does one perform the act of 'hand washing' upon a garment?

Should I just immerse it in water or give it a could sruc on a rock by a river? Or something in between.
