Been reading about Aussie cinema recently after watching Snowtown and Animal Kingdom earlier this year. The Hunter - Willem Dafoe hired to go hunt the extinct Tasmanian Tiger after rumours of sightings. Visually stunning, well acted and an unusual storyline. Enjoyed. Burning Man - Matthew Goode (who I actually met a few weeks back at Lattitude and was a really top fella CSB) as a Chef living in Sydney dealing with his wifes death and smashing all he can to cope with the trauma. A bit of a gut wrencher I found, well filmed and acted with some hard scenes to watch but worth the journey. Would recommend. Lots of tits in for the juveniles. Got 'Wasted on the Young' and 'X' next for my Aussie phase. Not related but Adventureland is on Iplayer until end of thursday for those who have not seen. Coming of age comedy/drama with Jesse Eisenberg. Worth watching just for Lisa P (WS). |

Psycho (1960) I'd only seen the shower scene before. Amazing film. The best I've seen all year... even the soundtrack which Busta Ryhmes sampled was good. |

Constantine. I've 1 hour to go, chain smoking Keanu is quite good in it but it's a struggle to watch without falling asleep in parts. |

Need banning for having as strong a reaction as hating Adventureland, great little film. Saw Girl with Dragon tattoo (Fincher version) was excellent. |

Love Matthew's a good actor. (Poor...)Poise and an air of literary grace. He's from a line of articrats iirc.Top 7 I'd say (list wise obviously). |

Bernard Herrmann was one of the great Hollywood composers. He also did this for Scorsese. Amazing
