Ridley Scott's missus looks like she could suck a basketball through a garden hose.

Prometheus review below. As one of its hype merchants on here, I was bitterly disappointed with it. I was expecting to jump out of my skin, but instead its a cross between Stargate and Mission to Mars. The acting and casting are great, but I can't help wondering how good it would have been if they just completely stripped it back to basics. Fassbender is excellent, as is Noomie Rapace, but the tech is far too advanced for its time within the series and the ‘Space Jockey’ looks about as good as the zombies from I am Legend. The ending felt like Scott had just gone ‘fuck it, lets wrap it up.' Was really looking forward to it as well. |

Bollocks, I'm off to see it twice next week. Didn't think he was going down the horror route for this but still I'm disappointed |

I watched it today too, it was no Alien but it was alright, it felt like there was shitloads missing to me, the plot seemed to bounce about with no explenation I expect there will be a directors cut with an extra hours footage |

but the tech is far too advanced for its time within the series how do you mean? I kind of agree with russ about the plot, but i thought it was great. good pace, good acting and a generally good sci-fi film. If you were watching it purely to see how it would tie in with alien then you'll be disappointed. |

^3D table-top visuals, ‘pup’ scoping devices, an incubator that performs its own operations? - Ripley was tapping away on some old BBC/Amstrad computer in the first Alien, and if the troopers in Aliens had some of the scoping tech they had in Prometheus, you could cut 3/4 of the film out. I realise I may sound like this person |

but the tech is far too advanced for its time within the series Prometheus is a research ship with all the latest tech. The Nostromo in Alien is basically a tug boat hauling minerals. I know what you mean though, it doesn't feel right. |

I know what you mean though, it doesn't feel right. And although it was a refinery/prison, I guess you could look at Alien 3 too. They have fuck all but a mop and a couple of spades. |

alien 3 and resurrection and the other 2 shit ones dont count. Byte is right, the nostromo is just a shipping vessel, the sulaco(?) is a military ship. The nostromo is a simple cheap ship, the sulaco is a military ship with plenty of guns and what-not onboard. Prometheus is weylands personal trillion dollar exploration toy. ... I made my mate watch alien the other day, and he said it was shit because "they should have just had guns and killed the alien", he said the same about prometheus today... |

I enjoyed PROMETHIUS...Wor lass did not,it is a prequal to Alien but really holds your attention in different way, horror it aint...Cinematography was excellent enhanced further by 3d that actually works. Fassbender was outstanding as was Noomi. liked the fact some questions were answered... however their were Quite a lot of plot holes and some unnecessary characters. |

Didn't enjoy Prometheus too much but agreed on the cinematography and the 3D seemed like it was actually meant to be there rather than being an afterthought. |

Saw it last night too, agree with the above comments. Wasn't impressed and my expectations were already very low. Too many characters and all very stereotypical, Too many cringe scenes most notably the ending action scenes. Yes the tech was all completely over the top purely for the sake of 3D, they could have kept it relevant to the sequels but still up to date (see Moon). I was hoping for a much darker much more basic affair. Fassbenders performance was its only saving grace. |
