I'm looking to spend sort of 350-450 tops on an LCD for my room. Needs to be easily hung. Can anyone recommend a really good set? Looking for it to be anywhere between 32-40". Better off shopping online or going to stores? Best brand to go with? Cheers.

This is all so confusing. That samsung looks ok haydn, but it's not wall mountable and I was maybe hoping for something over 20". And I can't decide whether extra size on this monitor - http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=333219&sourceid=2021 is worth the loss in graphics capabilities, or just to get a smaller, but more expensive HDTV.

I might just buy a massive one on credit from littlewoods or something Laughing out loud.

No point in buying a little one if I'm probably going to keep it for years.

Now I just need the xbox.

Sorry to keep pissing on your campfire, but the 5 series Philips are generally a bad set and to be avoided. The picture quality on Bekos deteriorate after time.

If you can stump up the extra score, go for the Sony or Samsung thats in that line-up, cracking LCDs for gaming and freeview telly will look good on them too.

I would'nt buy from littlewoods, they are well overpriced. There are plenty of internet shops that do credit.

Ok, right. So this Sony at 499 isn't too bad? Had a quick search and that seems to be the general price.

I was thinking of getting AAA's Xbox off here but I don't really wanna be banned from Live, so I'll just get a new XBOX premium or something.

i would have a look at richer sounds - they have got some very cheap lcd's and plasmas, also check the clearance section for you local store as there are bargains to be had.

I've just gone from a decent phillips tv to a samsung lcd and the difference is incredible - gaming is so much better in hd!

Right, just got a 37 inch LCD Toshiba TV. It won't tune into the inbuilt freeview, I've attached an external aerial but it's not picking up an reception. What's happening Cry.

What its not picking up any channels when you scan?

On a side note M&S are doing 40" Sony Bravia 1080p for £600, seems reasonable.

Yeah, it's found some grainy analogue channels, plus it's raining hard here, but surely it should be able to find some sort of freeview channel when I change it to DTV?

Yeah it should be able to pick them up, did it pick up analouge channels fine on your old TV?

Should come up with something like first time installation, then should search through all the Channels and pick them all up, especially with an outdoor aerial.
Is there another aerial point you can test? That one might be fucked..

when you say external antenna do you mean your main one on your roof or just one indoors?

Yeah it picked them up OK, not great, but it deffinately picked up the analogue channels. The first time installation doesn't find any freeview channels. Do you mean test another aerial? It's not connected direct to the main aerial because that's in the living room.

What you could do is connect the TV to the main aerial in the living room to firstly pick up the channels then once they are stored they can sometimes be picked up on a weaker signal, I did it with the TV in the kitchen.

Seems strange that no channels are getting picked up at all though.. the two tvs upstairs in my house freeview is working on and stadard indoor aeriel..

Oh right I thought you meant an outdoor one.. yeah try using the main aerial to initially pick up the channels, then plugging in the indoor one once they are stored.

You may have to buyone of those booster aerials, but the best thing would try and get on outdoor/loft one linked up to your bedroom, think it cose me about £25 to get it done in my room. Its a nightmare having a little aerial, the channels often flicker when you move around the room and it get annoying as fuck.
