I'm looking to spend sort of 350-450 tops on an LCD for my room. Needs to be easily hung. Can anyone recommend a really good set? Looking for it to be anywhere between 32-40". Better off shopping online or going to stores? Best brand to go with? Cheers. |

Agree with just getting a seperate DVD player. Fuck the built in jobbies. Free Delivery on that one here: Also the 32" version is only about £20 more. |

Ive got a 32 in my bedroom wall mounted, whenever I watch DVDs which is rarely really I just hook up a cheapey DVD player. Probably hoook it up to my PC/laptop more. Dont think many of the better manufactuers do many with inbuilt DVD. No point really as it means once improved versions etc come out you have to replace your full TV rather than just get a new DVD player. Also they are expensive to fix if they fuck up. Normally find it will be really small LCDs with built in DVD's for kids bedrooms etc. |

Is that 26" Samsung good? I've got a 32" widescreen at the moment but need something a bit smaller to take back to uni in October - that LCD worth the money? |

Pioneer and Panasonic are the best brands IMO if you are want to spend the full £1500. As mentioned LG are also good. Also you cant go wrong with Samsung and Toshiba. Samsung are always mentioned and get a lot of people buying them becasue they are excellent value for money, (they look good and have a pretty good picture) Not becasue they are the best. Saw the new Samsung LED TV lined up along side and Panasonic and Pioneer TV and the picture looked fantastic on it. I'd be weary of investing in new technology until it had a proper place in the market (HD / Blu-ray) |

With the Samsungs its really hit and miss on models with picture sound/quality. I got a 32" Samsung years ago and the picture and sound is great (was the ones used to demo the XBox) Then my 'rents got a 40" last christmas and I think both the sound and the picture quality is pretty shoddy. Then I got my gran a 37" last month and they picture quality is great, cant comment on sound. If your spending £1500 I would read a lot of reviews/comments on AV forums and maybe go have a look in the shop rahter than take poeples word for it on here. |

Best 46'' for around £1500? Sony KDL46Z4500 is 'true' to your budget. Superb for sports (high refresh rate) and the new bravia engine in the latest Sonys is excellent especially with dark scenes - the first lcd ive seen that looks as good as a plasma. If you want to 'size down' a few quid go for the Panasonic TXP46G10. If you want to 'size up' a few quid any Pioneer Kuro. They are quite simply the best tv you can get picture wise although obselete now they still rule the roost |

anyone else with an lg, what the fuck is that 'simplix' button on the remote all about? |

It's not "simplex" (like in simplex/duplex) is it ? |

Its a Simplink button. Its LG's way of interconnecting devices that use the simplink technology. If you have an LG TV and an LG DVD player with simplink, you can control both with one remote, provided you are using the HDMI cable to connect the two together. |
