I'm looking to spend sort of 350-450 tops on an LCD for my room. Needs to be easily hung. Can anyone recommend a really good set? Looking for it to be anywhere between 32-40". Better off shopping online or going to stores? Best brand to go with? Cheers.

That's a great price for a G10, 600hz I think Cool Only reason I ended up getting this one, is because my old one developed this fault:

Went back to Comet repairs twice before they wrote it off and gave me an exchange. Was reading on AVforums that it was part of a dodgy batch that went out a year ago.

Yeah it was a great deal. Ouch! Still looks like you've got a decent solution with the new X10. You can always bide your time a bit and sell that if you wish once the new sets have landed and we find out if they live up to the hype.

I would say find the tv you want as cheap as you can and get John Lewis to price-match it.

Got this in the end:

Price matched it with some place in essex for £270.

HD freeview "CON"

amazing how people think the TV can support things not even invented or ratified standards that didn't exist when it was designed

Anyone come across this problem before?

Watching a DVD last night we noticed a faint noise in the background, like someone chattering away. Paused the DVD and turned the sound right up and you could hear the program that was on the TV, despite being on the AV channel to watch the DVD and not on the TV channel.

Googled it (obviously) and I'm not really any the wiser about the exact cause (something about SCART interference) or the exact solution. It's a cheapo DVD player (Yakumo Laughing out loud) plugged into a Panasonic Viera via SCART.

Can anyone help?

(We should probably change the thread title to "Guido's audio visual extravaganza")

The TV has a built-in digi-box.

edit: I think there's a way of watching analogue channels still, so maybe there is a way of switching off the digital TV......

Dear Dan,

I wanted to let you know about a unique opportunity to purchase one of the last few remaining 40 inch TV's from our current LE600 LED TV range. Exclusively between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday 30 March 2010, as an Affinity Programme Member, you will be able to purchase our LC40LE600E LED Backlight 1080p TV for just £499.

That is a massive reduction on our, already reduced, normal Affinity Price - and still with the added security of our 5 Year Warranty thrown in.

To purchase this TV, simply go to: www.sharp.co.uk/invt/lc40le600e&log=2&assignusgrref=affinity

Kind regards,

Steve Godbolt

I've got an older 37" version of that Panasonic Viera, really impressed with it.

If you're talking 'Kuro' then yeah they were probably the best out there and yes they stopped making telly a while a go!
