BEATERS = a pair of trainers that you buy on purpose just to wear in terrible wether conditons such as sleet or snow, or for manual labour..therefore keeping all your 'sick kicks' boxfresh.
BIN'ED = the action of being raped on ebay by pressing the always stupidly high 'B.I.N' (buy it now) button to make sure there is no chance of another headz copping these rare pieces of 'heat' before you.
BLEED = the cause of ruined kicks worldwide. it is the result of excess indigo in raw selvedge denim rubbing onto said kick (denim bleed). renowned for being impossible to remove from laces or sued, but in certain cases nail varnish remover has been successful on patent or shiny plastic heats.
BLATES = obviously.
BREAK OUT = this is when a headz pulls out a pair of proper rare o.g's that he has kept 'on ice' for years and year..usually with the sole purpose of fucking another headz bird, therfore making the inferior trainer wearer 'leave the game without his girlfriend'.
BOXFRESH = this is the condition of 'dope' trainers meaning as new, even after being worn, if the headz is particularly fussy in keeping his kicks super clean at all times.
COLLAB = this is the headz abreviation of the word 'collaboration' and is used to describe a sneaker that has been mad by two companies working together in design and build of said sneaker..ie 'footpatrol air stab' or 'stussy blazer' . 'vans supreme' or 'neighborhood superstar'.
COIN = the money, cash, dollars or pound sterling that headz use to buy trainers/sneakers/kicks with. eg "im deffo gonna cop those sick jordan vii's when they drop if i have the coin."
CONSIGNMENT STORE = a shop which sells clients' trainers for a percentage of the profits. rarely seen in the uk, but are popular in the us and asia. like ebay, but without the worry of postage and fakes. eg, flight club.
COP/COPPED = to buy rare trainers (can be used for caps or camoflage clothing as well).
COPPED TWO PAIRS = when a headz is so taken by a new release that they buy two pairs - one to rock and one to stock.
CREPS = trainers/kicks/heatz.
CW/COLOURWAY = different colours used on a specific shoe. even colourblind people can contribute. e.g nike dunk hi undftd.
DEADSTOCK = rare trainers kept in the box and never worn.
DISCO DIRT = this is the horrible stains of lager or urine that appear on a headz 'og sick kicks' after a night on the town drinking vast amounts of baileys and nightclubbing activites, where the headz is to drunk to notice it happening.
DOPE = extremley nice, but not as good as 'sick'.. eg new balance 'mad hectics'.
DROP/DROPPED = when trainers arrive at the shops, on-line or in the post to you.
DUTTY = a person who buys rare trainers with the sole intention of selling them on to people who did not purchase when they came out (dropped) for one reason or another (snoozed) for massive profits on the retail price.
FANBOY = a headz that is obsessed with only the one brand, always either the swoosh or the three stripes.
FLAMED = the act of one or a group of headz running down another headz new 'pick ups' or the mass slaughtering of a'new 'gr' release.
FUTURE CLASSIC = the term used for a general release shoe that is totally overlooked by the masses, but one that the 'headz' crew have all jumped on and kept to themselves, rendering the shoe highly sought after in the near future. e.g the atmos am1.
GOOD WORK = this is what fellow headz will say to you if you have managed to walk into a shop or click a button on the internet to buy some new trainers.
GR = general realase for any normal human to buy (so in other words , no proper headz would be seen dead in)
HEAD TURNERS = the action of a random person who turns their head in a 360 degree turn to catch a better look at your rare trainers (usually tiffany & co or stussy court forces).
HEADZ = a young (usually white) male who wears rare non high street trainers and camoflage clothing and a baseball cap at all times.
HEADZ UP = this is the art of giving someone a tip or some information on literally anything that they might not of known. (very similar to show love drop knowledge')
HEAT/HEATZ = this is a verb to describe a pair of kicks that are described as so hot and quality looking that they would burn a headz fingers if he held them for too long. Example would be 'Check these man, these are some major major heat dude'.
HOLY GRAIL = every headz has a 'holy grail', this is a shoe that they 'slept/snoozed/you snooze you lose' on, and refuse to either pay 'rape' prices to 'duttys' or the said trainer has never shown up for sale again since they missed out on 'copping'....eg pigeon or london dunk lo's.
HOOK UP = to sell a fellow headz a pair of trainers ie 'do you like my new supreme dunk hi's, thanks to yankeeheadz for the hook up'.
HYPEBEAST = a headz who buys rare trainers and overpriced clothing worn by rappers such as Pharrell, etc. in an attempt to compensate for their lack of style
HYPERSTRIKE = is when some worthy party (usually a shop or ageing graffiti artist) is given a special run of trainers with their name or logo on. not sold in shops, strictly friends and family. limited to 24 pairs usually.
J's = nike air jordans. most headz all time favourite 'sick/dope sneaker'
JELLY ROLL = is the artform where a headz with extremely large feet, rolls up an old sock and sticks it under the tongue of their slightly awkward looking too big kicks, making them look fatter and not so long and boat like.
KICKS = trainers.
LACE FLIPS = to change the laces that come with your trainers to that of an unusual colour lace that people will instantly recognise that you have 'flipped them'.
LEAVING THE GAME WITHOUT YOUR GIRLFRIEND = when you wear a pair of less rare trainers than a fellow headz at a gathering (preferably a showcase drop party in soho/covent garden) and the fellow headz steals your lady and fucks her from arsehole to breakfast because of his superior trainers (usually AM1 kid robots in pink).
LOWBALLER/LOWBALLING = the partaking of bidding another 'headz' who is selling some rare 'kicks' a ridiculously low and totally unrealistic offer price in the hopes they are thick or a 'non headz' or not 'team linked' and do not know what they have got, and that will be highly unlikely to be accepted. so you either 'lowball' the seller and are a 'lowballer', or the seller accuses you of 'lowballing' him in answer to your cheeky bid.
MAKING THEM WORK = this is a term used by one headz to another if they hate the kicks the other is wearing, but do not want to upset another shoe collector or to upset the apple cart in any way in fear of jepordising any future team linked hook ups, so rather than say 'they are disgustingly shit and make me want to vomit, have you got shit in your eyes dude', they say 'im not to keen on those kicks man, but you are making them work'.
NECK BREAKERS = the process of someone cricking their neck to get a proper look at your really rare and attractive trainers.
NICE FITS = trainers or camoflage clothing that looks very well on you.
NON STRANGULATION DESTINATION = please do not do your laces up so tight.
OG = original, meaning an old school trainer that is not produced anymore.
ONE-UPMANSHIP = to be wearing better sneakers/trainers/kicks than another headz at a hook up.
ON ICE = the practise of a headz keeping some rare trainers for years to wear out on a special occasion normally with the sole purpose of fucking another headz bird, so he 'leaves the game without his girlfriend'.
ON POINT = that is exactly what was needed to be said on this matter.
OUTLET FODDER = a particular model or colourway that is unloved and will not sell at full price so will quickly be moved off to factory outlets and sold at a reduced price with full size runs available.
PINROLLS = a really bizzare and stupid looking turn up of a headz denim jeans, as to show off some 'dope kicks' so the world can see them much better, thus 'breaking more necks'.
PULLING TRIGGERS = a term used by headz to indicate they have pressed the B.I.N (buy it now) button on an Ebay sale for some proper heat.
PREMIUM = a trainer that is made with better materials than the usual trainers are made from.
PROPS = to be given 'proper' or deserved respect/recognition. eg 'mad props to those sick sneaks dude'
QUICKSTRIKE = a limited amount of trainers only sold at specific shops. had the kudos of not being in every shop/unlucky to be on the feet of the bloke next to you in lidl. now size? sell quickstrike, so the whole concept's meaningless as it's on most highstreets nowadays.
RAPE = extra silly high prices for rare trainers that the resellers (duttys) charge to make money off of headz. ie 'dude that dutty charges rape prices'
RECYCLED PIC = the usage of a picture on the net of some major heat that you have posted before if you feel the need to get some ettention, an e high five, an e hug and some e props but are not near a camera or you cant be arsed to take another picture. Or in some cases if you have 'duttyed' the said 'heat' and havent told anyone but still want to remain a top 'headz' by bluffing it with the old photo.
RESERVED A PAIR = this is the art of phoning a top kicks store and asking them to hold a pair of real rare classic kicks, and cos they know you so well and you are a major player in the world of headzism, they are more than happy to do this for you.
RETIRING FROM THE GAME/GETTING OUT THE GAME= a stance adopted by a small band of 'og headz' from around 2002/2003 as a reaction to the 'game' becoming too popular, losing its underground status and being niche marketed by mainstream companies such as nike and adidas. can vary from going completely cold turkey to selling off a large amount of 'kicks', no longer 'copping 'the latest 'drop's like other dedicated 'headz' and only seeking out 'og' pre 'hypebeast' era sneakers.
RIDICULOUS = very good, see sick and dope.
ROCKING/TO ROCK = what trainers or camoflage clothing you are wearing or wore somewhere.
SB = skateboarding, as in nike sb.
SICK = extremely good. eg red supreme dunk hi's.
SIZE RUN = this is how headz let each other know what sizes in trainers that stores, on-line or otherwise have got in stock, as in "hey man, footpatrol have got a full 'size run' in the new court forces at the moment, so dont snooze"
SLEPT = this is what the headz will say about a trainer if they did not 'pick up' when they 'dropped' and 'snoozed' and failed to 'cop'..so they will say 'Dude, im well miffed i slept on those sick babies'
SNEAKERS = trainers.
SNEAKER CULTURE = a catch-all term that covers anything involving jazzy coloured sneakers. can be used to describe anything from customisations to blagging free beers at a trainer release party held by people you don't even like.
SNOOZE/YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE = means to not purchase a pair of trainers when they arrive in store or on-line (drop) and have to buy them for more money at a later date from ebay etc.
SOCK BLOCK = the act of preventing a headz from getting a particular pair of sneakers..eg by not 'showing love and dropping knowledge' to a fellow 'headz' who is not a member of 'team linked'.
STARS INTACT = as in 'stars still all intact' meaning the stars on the sole of certain nikes, usually dunk sb's, are are all still visible and are not worn down, meaning the shoe has either been worn very lightly or are near deadstock.
STEEZ = yankism for style with ease, meaning a certain persons own inimitable look...adopted by headz all over the internetz, not only used in chigago and alabama etc any more, but also in camberley and sheffield etc.'
SWAG = another slang word that headz that wish they were young black african americans use, can mean either good or bad, but none of them really know the actual meaning of this term, but they will not let the word go, cos its part of their street culture.
TEAM LINKED = people in an elite few that tell you where to buy rare trainers from and not showing love or dropping knowledge to the majority of fellow headz.
THE GAME = means to be in the realms of purchasing rare and sort after trainers at all times.
TIER = trainers that are only released at the most poncey and pretentious shops scattered around the world, and will always amount in people queing outside said stores overnight to make sure of a purchase (to cop)
TO SHOW LOVE AND DROP KNOWLEDGE = to tell all fellow headz about some new and rare trainers that are forthcoming and where to purchase them from (rather like 'team linked' but letting the majority know and not just a select few)
TO STOCK = to keep a new purchase stored in its box, often to bring them out at a later date and create much neck snappage. also done for the uber-releases that are so rare that actually wearing them would break the headz code of ethics and see the poor headz cast out from the sneaker community.
UNDER THE RADAR = term used to describe a pair of sneakers (normally general release) that few headz were interested in at the time that subsequently become sought after when no longer in stores or on ebay. eg. damn those linen/atmosphere forces totally crept under my radar
UNDS = is the wearing of a super rare pair of kicks, therefore rendering them 'un-deadstock' any longer, as they have touched concrete.
WINSTON = an ageing west indian or nigerian gentleman. usually an unlicensed mini cab driver who will give a headz a lift home in adverse weather conditions for a monetary return, to prevent neck breakers becoming beaters.
