Seems that for whatever reason on here the levels of stupidity are rising. I fear for a great many fellow fukers and think that with help from each other we may help guide each other through life....
So you know those stupid questions you dare not ask for fear of looking foolish or maybe you have a situation that you feel the advice and experience of wiser people than you could prove invaluable, then post it here!
Maybe we can link the student thread directly to this one?

My macbook got water damaged and my insurers cleaned & tested the parts and just replaced the logic board. 6 months later It got stuck on caps lock a couple of times after the repair (possible damage to keyboard which they didnt replace??) so I mentioned this to my insurers and they just sent me a new macbook as a replacement. It has only got stuck on capslock twice and that was both on the same day but I wanted to get a replacement so I mentioned it been using it for a month since and no problems. How much is the faulty one worth? its this one

water was spilt under the mac btw, not over the keyboard

Depends how much you trust them and reckon they'll be mature about it. I have a couple of friends who i'd probably let rent a house from me, but others who I know would be trouble.

Was a load of hassle for me. I would advise against it.

I've rented to a mate and it was no problem at all but like folk said, it depends on what they're like.

So the only thing wrong with it is the sticky capslock? Taken it into Apple? (I know you've got a new one, but may be worth fixing to sell on?)

Not even a sticky capslock - got stuck on caps once or twice and had to restart the comp. Not had a problem for over a month now. I took it to apple to get a quote for my insurers when it first happened and they listed off a whole bunch of parts, my insurers cleaned the inside up and replaced the logic board. I dont think apple will touch it without replacing all the parts they originally listed so not really worth it for me - over £700 in repairs.
could list it as repaired on ebay? which is the truth but i know the insurers did it on the cheap and didnt replace all the parts apple recommended so would be a bit of a lie saying its fully repaired. Though maybe apple over exaggerated what needed repairing as it seems to be working fine?

Got a 2nd interview for a new job on Monday, but ive got work booked in, in my current job all day.
They are saying i will most likely have to work, have i got any rights at all to get time off to go to an interview?
Im sure ive read that your current employer must let you go to an interview or is that bull?
