Seems that for whatever reason on here the levels of stupidity are rising. I fear for a great many fellow fukers and think that with help from each other we may help guide each other through life....

So you know those stupid questions you dare not ask for fear of looking foolish or maybe you have a situation that you feel the advice and experience of wiser people than you could prove invaluable, then post it here!

Maybe we can link the student thread directly to this one? Eye-wink

Recieved a letter saying I've been caught driving in a bus lane when I was up in Sheffield (no EVERS). Any decent comeback to get out of it or should I just cough up?

Fight it. I know two people that got out of it in Sheffield. Just plead ignorance and first offence etc.

first world problems

we use Microsoft wireless mice at work, that are as good as any other, but al of them are a pain in the arse when the battery dies and you don't have a spare to hand.

Doing a study abroad in New York for 4 months this Autumn, the university doesn't offer halls but have instead offered private international halls that are horrendously expensive and essentially triple bunkbeds - not sure whether to bite the bullet and take a room or just flatshare somewhere nice and cheaper. Only know a couple of people vaguely in New York so concerned it might take a bit longer to make friends if I flatshare, any thoughts?

You'll be ok flatsharing as long as you live with good people. If possible might be an idea to stay in the international halls for two weeks so you can meet people and use that time to go look for apartments (use craigslist sublets, there's always so many and often very short notice).

Any advice from someone who has successfully started & marketed thier own company. Finding it hard to to get our company name out there beyond FB/Twitter etc. Any tips on writing a Press Release would also be cool. Cheers.

Has anyone had any promotional mugs made up? I found these: http://www.promo-mugs.net/promotional/mug/c020_1/cambridge-mug-bkme0003.htm

£129 plus £30 origination fee for 72 mugs but I don't know if that price is any good.

Any recommendations?

Cheers.

should be cheaper. quid a mug. i tried to set a mug printing business up once (brought the kit and everything - the mug press was from china and had to be put on 'heat' for 30 seconds to put the sublimation paper onto the mug - anyway the tune for that entire 30 seconds was the chinese national anthem.. so annoying!). the business never took off as about 50% of all mugs were broken in the post. wrapped them in proper polystyrene as well Sad (mug!)

I bought a decent American made mug machine from some Indians in east London off ebay a few years ago, warranty included. The inkjet that uses the sublimation inks and has pumps get blocked and go shit if you don't use it often though.

I got 2 SP50's in April 2008, just had to get a new license due to change of address and they're not on there. Always thought it was 5 years until they came off??

Do I have to get them written on this new paper part of the license? Just did a quick ggogle search and looks like it's only 4 years.
