gum tree is nigerian scammer central so just beware, anything that involves any kind of western union etc bank transaction is a deffinate scam, infact nearly everything I have ever tried to do on gumtree has resulted in somone trying to pull a scam,so I wouldnt even bother with it.

@ Homer and MoB
Other side of Brick Lane, closer to Bethnal Green tube but basically the same area. Almost took a place on Fieldgate Street, was sure I'd end up being your neighbour if I did

I don't know if it applies to London, but I've used globrix.com for my last move.
Once you've searched you can choose to view results in map format, and I just found that and the general ease of use to be the best I've come across.
And I think in my whole 3 months of searching I came across one scammer and it was ridiculous - he said the property could only be viewed from the outside and that he would only fly over to view it with me if I paid one months rent deposit in case 'I' was a fraud!
Good luck

Clapham is full of neo-Fulhamite young professionals who have no interests other than of continuing their University lifestyle of getting smashed at the weekend at generic chain bars.

Is that good or bad? I love several drinks and partying, but the yuppie chain bar bit turns me off it.

I don't really know Clapton that well, but I would consider living in Dalston or Stoke Newington which are about the same distance out and roughly the same in rent but have a lot more going for them. They say Dalston is the new Notting Hill after all.

does anyone really really really give a fuck where they live/sleep?
as long as you dont get fucking stabbed up by some black fucking kid wanting your headfones every time you step foot out your front door, does it matter?
you lot really amaze me with your comments on life....and i dont mean just you and fontleroy, besty, i mean 70% of this gaff.
i dont give a shit where i live as long as being white does not make me a fucking alien.
