It's a nicer area than Dalston imo. Some great new businesses opening up round Cheshire st.

Going to be starting a new job in Bloomsbury soon.
Currently living and working in Winchester so looking to move to somewhere in North London as I want a quick commute to work and to be close to somewhere green where I can go running (Hampstead Heath).
Would ideally like to find a room in Kentish Town (where I’ll be staying with friends of friends in the short term)/Belsize Park/Highgate but realise that this may be a bit of a stretch given my limited budget (£125pw/£550pcm).
Don’t know London very well so wondered if anyone could recommend any other areas nearby that were a bit cheaper to rent in but still decent (thoughts on Gospel Oak, Tufnell Park and East Finchley?) or any areas elsewhere in the city that met my main criteria (quick commute/nice places to run).
Also, aside from Gumtree, what are the best sites to look on for rooms to rent?
Thanks

Got a pal who has got a last minute placement in London, working just off Oxford St, and is looking for accommodation for about three weeks -starting next week . Any suggestions for sites to look on?

Trystero I'd suggest best bet would be Kentish Town:
. You got buses down central ways(or a short walk into Camden with plenty more. Think the 134 goes straight down to Bloomsbury.
. Its a short jog up the road to Parliament Hill (Part of the Heath) which has a running track.
. If you fancy running/cycling to work its easy to go Kentish to Chalk Farm to Primrose Hill to Regents Park (Running track there aswell)and the you are almost in Bloomsbury.
On your budget Highgate and Belsize are a bit of a stretch. Gospel Oak and Tuffnel Park both touch on Parliament Hill aswell, both nice areas. Tuffnel park more so and with better transport. East Finchley wouldnt be such a quick commute unless you were over by the Muswell Hill side where the 134 also goes from outside the Odeon.

You are too young and too hipster to not live east.
Hoxton/ dalston/ / bethnal green/ stoke newington price range falls in that order.
