I mustn't read the right threads. Last I heard Jordan you had a fucked S2000, now you're getting married and moving to the City of Dreams after only visiting a few times! Stick to Bristol, it's nicer Smiling

Smiling my cars been fixed for ages, it's all fine now.
@doomedyouth, her parents live in Paris, so no. But I'll be sure to do a wayet pic

There's a few reasons I'm moving, I feel like a bit in a rut in my job and need to get out (why I've started a college night course), plus she's planned to move back to the smoke in June before we even met, but says she wouldn't move without me, who knows. Plus I think it'll be good. But asides that, she could be my ticket into NYC Smiling
And ofc the fact I really like her Laughing out loud

Looking to buy a flat in London which had 2 bedrooms but can only go as far as £200k, what sort of areas should I be looking at?

I know the need for a 2 bedroom at that price basically means it won't be in a good area, but can anyone recommend the 'best of the worst' so to speak.

Given the stipulations, I'll get the Laughing out loud in first.

Will be renting it out, as I want in on mad London house price inflation (given that I'd be paying the same rate on my mortgage wherever the property, makes sense to go with London)

you might get a new build in a shit area if your lucky, or ex council more centrally. will be inner estate ex council if you want a 2 for that money. you'd get get a decent enough 1 bed for that but pushing it for 2

Yeah, thats what I've seen really. Just thought it was worth checking.

Gonna have to pass more exams + save a bigger deposit it seems.

might be worth buying a "nice" 1 bed ex council for that if you can find one, but even then not sure how good a rental yield 1 bed would give.

I paid 1.1k rent a month on an ex council 1 bed in zone 1 off london bridge few years ago, not sure what the going rent rate is now. Old man bought a 1 bedroom ex council about 6 months ago 5 mins from tower bridge with patio/garden etc for 190

Trystero I'd suggest best bet would be Kentish Town:
. You got buses down central ways(or a short walk into Camden with plenty more. Think the 134 goes straight down to Bloomsbury.
. Its a short jog up the road to Parliament Hill (Part of the Heath) which has a running track.
. If you fancy running/cycling to work its easy to go Kentish to Chalk Farm to Primrose Hill to Regents Park (Running track there aswell)and the you are almost in Bloomsbury.

On your budget Highgate and Belsize are a bit of a stretch. Gospel Oak and Tuffnel Park both touch on Parliament Hill aswell, both nice areas. Tuffnel park more so and with better transport. East Finchley wouldnt be such a quick commute unless you were over by the Muswell Hill side where the 134 also goes from outside the Odeon.

Thanks for the recommendations

I ended up in East Finchley in the end, quite close to Muswell Hill. Really like it here so far. Very handily located for running as I’m near to Highgate Wood and only a few minutes away from the top of Hampstead Heath by Kenwood House. Commute isn’t too bad either as it’s only around 20 minutes or so to Goodge Street on the tube. 134 is also reasonably quick, though I only tend to get it when there's engineering work on at weekends
