200k will barely get you a 2 bed flat in London? Don't know why people bother buying flats in London

Anyone lived in Caledonian Road before? Looking to buy a flat and prices look reasonable there. The alternative is Bromley by Bow, which I actually don't mind.

i lived on the cally road, i have friends there now. it's alright, not too bad getting to angel and essex road and that, 1 stop into kings cross from the tube. seems to be more going on than when i was there 4-5 years ago.

where i was (right by tube station) has gone from having just a shit newsagents and a cafe to having a nisa and tesco express and a couple new buildings. obviously holloway rd is just up road though. i'd live cally now, just wonder what the price is like.

I viewed a new build near Cally rd, place felt a bit scabby, I live in wood green currently so that's saying something. Going rates around 350k for a 2 bed which is pretty reasonable considering location.

I've heard loads of good stuff about Stokey, might be out of my price range for what I want though and there's no tube?

Went to look at new build in Bromley by bow today, 25 floors, over looks Olympic stadium, the wharf and shit loads of council flats, oh and the a12 (loud!) but it's cheap.

how much? looking at that new buy 95% mortgage government scheme but there all shit developments, best one is that massive on A4/M4 as you go through brentford.

i'd be worried about buying near the olympic site (especially new as you'll already be paying a premium). going to be such a huge over supply of residential property there that i've got no idea how anything can appreciate.

i'm going to be moving to London come July for work. offices are currently near liverpool street, but will be moving in september. planning on moving out to live with friends/closer to new offices around then anyway. where's my best bet for finding somewhere short term, july->september? student halls that are let out during summer?

i'm thinking this will be even more of a ball ache with the olympics going on.

I think with the timing it will cost you a bomb, its probably the worst time you could pick to try and find something, unless you got friends with spare rooms going be really hard
