nobu is probably the best ive been to in london (need to book a month in advance), along with hakasan, sketch (might be over budget), nobu berkely, roka, zuma, gordan ramsay (one month advance again). Although with these places you have to mind that portions arent massive but theyre the sort of places ive been to for special occasions if thats what youre doing.

heard hakasan was good, is nobu actually worth all the hype it gets and the cost?

id say its worth it, especially for a special occasion, easily some of the best food ive had in london and it isnt that pretentious either. but like i said, dont expect massive portions for what youre paying.

depends, if youre getting wine/champagne in as well probably around 60-80 pp tops with you being generous and leaving with a full stomach id say, although a lot cheaper if youre not drinking.

FOLIAGE at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge

+ Excellent food (modern European)
+ Good service.
+ Good atmosphere.
+ Excellent wine.
+ Really good looking blonde toilet escort.

- It's almost too perfect, I liked the fact that 6 people at one time were running around catering to my needs but some don't.
- Expensive, for me and my girl friend it was £201 but we didn't have the tasting Menu and that did include a bottle of red wine, pre-starter/pre-dessert + 20 year old port.

The portion sizes are designed to give you the optimum satisfaction, not to fill you up.

Quality Chop House on Farringdon Road EC1..... good food, good price with a bit of history to mix. order the crumble and ask for extra custard.

recommended, a regular haunt when im back home.

edit: and if your perhaps wanting to head north, try the Duke of Cambridge, its an organic pub just off angel, but quiet... again good food/atmosphere, book in advance though for the restaurant...order a pie and drink the cider.

Laughing out loud

i mentioned the fact portion sizes arent going to be massive as ive seen many times people expecting something huge when they're paying around £20 for a main dish only to be dissapointed when it arrives on their table Laughing out loud
