The big 3 0 up next and the hair is starting to go. It was only really noticeable to me before but the last 6 months it got worse.... faced with this my options are to ignore it and let nature take it's course, look at growing bits longer to perfect a combover for later years or the one I'm looking at. Shave it off. Now I'm not keen on shaving it off as I don't think it will suit me at all. As I see it though it's the only option...

So any other old gits been through the same? How did you handle this male trauma?

Let the piss take begin! Laughing out loud

Trust me - forget regaine and crap like propecia.. unless you are a freak responder they won't make any difference to your hairline and probably only help you maintain what you have left elsewhere.. plus the side effects are rotten. There is only one option - buzz it !

The sooner you do it, the better. Losing your hair can be a real headf**k for some people and they let it rule their life believe it or not.. a few things to ponder my friend -

Some days you will hate it, and it will get you down a bit.. these will get fewer as time goes by and soon you won't give a f**k. Also, some girls won't find you attractive simply because youre losing/lost your hair.. On the flipside, some will go nuts because they love the look and want to ride you red raw Sticking out tongue I've been buzzing mine for about 3-4 years and reckon it works out about even overall, and when i go to a club I never fail to have a few honeys rubbing my bonce at some point Laughing out loud

No plans to use any product. I'm a realist and I know they're a rip off. Laughing out loud

My diet is ok prob eat healthy 3/4 of the week and 1/4 could be improved ie take away or just having what I fancy. I don't eat snacks like chocolate. I exercise every day expect a Sunday. I Drink too much on a weekend but barely touch alcohol during the week. I don't smoke.

Fact is my dad and both grandads have or did lose their hair to some degree so it's going to happen.

Took some pics on my phone but cant get them off till I get hold of my cable. So the piss take will have to wait a bit longer Laughing out loud

Propecia (finasteride) does have a good success rate, as does dutasteride. Sticking my head on the block here, but I speak from 5 years experience. Generic finasteride will work out costing you 5p per day so might be worth seeing if it works for you. It's approved by the FDA for hair loss so it's not snake oil

But like others have said, your diet is important & stop smoking if you do smoke

Wigs, hair transplants and combovers are just pathetic. Your body has passed its prime and you are on a long, slippery slope into old age and all the unpleasant things that go with it.

Face up to it and deal with it, that way the jokes about your hair and accept that it is the way you are going to be, so why spend thousands of pounds on transplants and the embarrasment of being caught with a syrup when you can keep it really short and never have to worry about paying for a haircut again.

I started thinning in my late 20's and have a nicely polished dome up top now and it hasn't made me any less of a person. I love ripping the piss out of those trying to cover up with bad combovers and wigs now which is even more effective as I'm a slaphead myself.

It isn't like getting fat or having caterpillar eyebrows - there is pretty much nothing you can do so don't go for the snake oil salesmen telling you it can make you a man again - there are no medically proven cures for what is essentially just old age.

Once this is over you have the liver spots and failing eyesight next followed by loss of virility, deafness and eventually death. Deal with it and get on with living.

Sorry to be blunt but it needs to be said.

thanks

Iain
