My honeymoon flight is from manchester so we are going down there the day before. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel, a nice restaurant and a few nice bars. I've never been to Manchester before so I'll need street/area names. I want the hotel bang in the centre too. Cheers.

Cheers man. I'll google chaophriya. I was going to book the Malmaison yesterday. I was looking at the Lowry but I've spent enough on the honeymoon.

Whats the best area(s) for some civilised drinking in nice surroundings?

Civilised? I'd avoid the printworks and the locks then, as at night they can get quite busy/lairy. Could try a couple of the bars near selfridges, in the big square where the huge tv is

It'll be a Tuesday night, we don't want to be part of a drinking throng - we just want to get on it quietly with nice food and a shit load of cocktails.

Malmaison near Picadilly Gardens is really nice.

Eateries check out San Carlo or Gaucho Grill on Deansgate (I'd go with San Carlo), pricey.. but you will not be disappointed. Guaranteed a suck at least when the nights done

San Carlo = King St West
Gaucho Grill = St Mary's St

Oh and if you like Chinese go to the Red Chilli (relaxed and informal) or Yang Sing (probably better for romance) some of the best chinese food in the UK is in manchester
