A good friend of mine has been busted for doing graf all over Reading.

Reading Evening Post wrote:

Reading's most wanted graffiti vandals have caused more than half a million pounds worth of damage to town buildings in the past three weeks.

Taggers such as ‘Persia', ‘Gnat', ‘Gavin', ‘Fault', ‘Lotus', ‘Nokia', ‘Tzar' and ‘Shank' have been on a rampage, painting buildings in Friar Street, Minster Street, Broad Street, Kings Street, Kings Road and various parts of Cemetery Junction.

Some of the taggers are going to increasingly extreme and dangerous lengths to paint their trademark sign on buildings, with the most obvious example being the ‘Persia' tag right near the roof of the empty Friars Walk arcade.

The vandals broke into the office through the windows then sprayed the tag on the inside walls. They then scaled the roof and painted the huge tag on the wall, presumably hanging upside down from the roof to paint the letters.

The Friars Walk tags were followed by a spate of attacks throughout the town, which in turn prompted the Reading Crime & Disorder Partnership's graffiti task force to launch an investigation.

Police said yesterday they had made four key arrests following this crackdown.

He is the "persia" mentioned in this article.

I know a couple of people on here know their graf scene so i was wondering if anyone knew what kind of sentence he could expect as i cant seem to contact him.

Cheers

I bought the reading times or whatever that article was in. I see all these roofies daily. The problem is Reading is tiny and those boys got up rapidly and it attracted a lot of attention. The same thing happened with BHS, NT, ADC and previous gangs too.

Since the offenders in question hammered reading yard too, if they get linked to that plot they will get fukt. It all depends on how much Berskshire Police will want to make an example of them. A certain writer who paints with them lot must have been nicked about 6 times and has done no time yet.

If they get linked to painting yards then they could get made an example of depending on the judge and arresting officers. Some of the big lads from up my way got caught on a chance stop and search in carpark near a remote layup- unfortuanately they had 200 cans of paint in each car. They had no sketches on them and didn't get done for there tags which were really prolific up in the North - one got a year, the other 8 months. Another big name writer from up here got caught a while back and also got a year - this was after alot of other arrests though - had alot of evidence in his house etc.

Other writeres more into damage and tagging and not painting trains have been caught stupid amounts of times and only got fines n community service, ASBOs etc. Seems trains is the biggie.

All in all it depends on the circumstances really and how much they can be linked with.
