although you don't really see the guy in a tie, or a blazer...

so you're basically just trying to re-invent the past...late 60's...crap, along with every other retard who grows their hair..or sticks a side sweep in & grows a lil bum fluff...

it's people like you, with looks like that, that really make me appreciate people like Raf Simons, Jun Takahashi, Takahiro Miyashita & emerging talents like Omar Kashoura, Carolyn Massey & Jean-Pierre Braganza...

Well done...

I held my tongue last time, but seriously, every post you write is about trying to become fit into to some sterotyped lifestyle you have seen on the tv or in magazines. It is embaressing to the nth degree.

basically my beef is this:

McFly and The Strokes are basically the same thing, cheesy disposable pop music which is like a green traffic light, its nice when you go through it but is quickly forgotten. I would have no problem with any of these 'indie' bands if they didn't think they were anything else but cheesey throw away pop, but... hilariously they all think they are serious muscians!!!!!! at least McFly know that they are just a pop band!

and i'll listen to pretty much anything:

electro or generic housey blandness when i'm out, (dare i say 'nu-rave')

when in a mood to appreciate music either something like trentemoller or the knife

when in a car perhaps some sketchy metal like Sikth or Dillinger escape plan

Chromeo when i have woman trouble Smiling

Occaisionally the odd bit of indie, like arcade fire, bloc party, jarvis cocker or perhaps mansun or oasis

on my ipod i usually whack on daft punk, sebastian, justice and electro stuff for going about my day

sometimes a bit of jazz such as john coltrane

and i love johnny cash who i listen too an awful lot

a bit of classic rap is good grandmaster flash, Public enemy and NWA, and at the newer end of the scale Jurassic 5 and Lupe fiasco

and if i am with girls pre night out tend listen to guilty pleasures like the scissor sisters, kylie minogue and mika

But i just can't get on with this new wave of NME endorsed indie bollocks, its the kind of thing designed to appeal to 15 year old girls who've just moved on from the 'boy band phase', it irratates me how people cant see that these bands are not meant to be taken seriously. the sad thing is that these bands actually DO take themselves seriously.

and the whole issue of thinking they have no style is because the whole indi-boy thing has been so done to death, it makes bape look bleeding edge.

so its not a case of me not likeing indie, its me not likeing the kind of pseudo-indie rubbish listened to by the likes of alex zane.

hope this clears things up

i know everything has its merits and everyone is entitled to their opinions, but my opinion is that this NME new-'indie' has no merits.

Laughing out loud

First you write the bad indie music, then its I love the indie type girls, then its am i too fat to be indie, then buy dior and sell it again, then emo post about no love from indie girls, then posting about the old blue last, the most obvious indie scenster hangout nobody would ever be seen dead in, then naming radio one pushed indie bands like the kooks...

Topping off with the strokes as the most influencial albums in 10 years?? are you nuts?? that kind of album has ben made for years, only because some sons of the super rich and privately eductaed aka the strokes knock out a typical example in NYC and its influencial??

All im saying is listen to some broader stuff, stop going on about indie all the time, and dont try so hard to fit into some sterotype.

it doesn't matter if you come from a wealthy background/privately educated, many many great artists have come from wealthy families, it shouldn't matter at all.

DDD was saying the only reason they got exposure was because they had the money to pay for it

You don't think daddy pulled any strings then? You don't think it's all down to looks? Don't be so naive.

Personally, I've got enough Velvet Underground albums - don't need the sanitised version.
