Minimalist wardrobe

I've been trying to get rid of a few items recently after thinking that there seems to be a lot of repitition in what I own. It got me thinking as to what the smallest number of items a sufficient wardrobe would consist of and what would they be? What do you guys think?

Black Suit, Grey suit, Navy vneck sweater, white shirt, black tie, white t, black t, grey t, dark raw indigo jeans, white hightops, chelsea boot

Obviously depends on your profession but as a general 1 Black and 1 grey or blue suit, 5 shirts of varying colours, 5 t-shirts of varying colours, 3 pairs of jeans(preferably different washes, 2 pairs of formal shoes, 1 pair casual shoes, 3 pairs of trainers, 1 overcoat, one short jacket.

You could survive with that i suppose. Would be very boring though.

loose indigo jeans, slim indigo jeans, charcoal suit, slim white and black shirt, black tie, striped tie, black/brown brogues/oxfords, white sneakers - cons, navy, black, charcoal cashmere v/round necks, 5 t's various colours (short/long sleeve), casual dark jkt (eg casual blazer, or bomber)

I believe minimal is the way - so many of my friends have tons of clothes they never wear. Currently:

2 pairs black jeans
2 pairs dark tights
about 5 dress/long tops - ranging from Kenzo to cheapie Uniqlo one, all work over the jeans or tights
short black boots
white Veja 'ethical trainers' (they are top)
short cord blazer jacket with my bronze fuk.co.uk badge attached
1 teal blue and 1 forest green cotton scarves from American Apparrel

but I confess it is hard get minimal with coats and jackets - I love a nice coat!

I dont agree...I have tons of stuff that i never wear, but its nice to know its there, just in case.

yeah that's what i aim for really so i don't mind you saying Smiling i feel cleansed for getting rid of a lot of the shit and having fewer, nicer items.

Got rid of all my coloured items and logos / branded etc, apart from 1 t-shirt (that blue one)

I only own black, shades of grey and white clothes + raw denim.
