eating big mac meals whilst driving.
rolling up spliffs while driving through town.
talking on the phone and having a salmon.
fingering a dirty bird while changing the cd.
pulling off at lights on a hill whilst brushing my hair while looking at you in the rear view mirror looking like youre having an epileptic fit taking off the handbrake and going through 4 gears.
doing a line off a card whilst moving through stop start traffic.
never ever touching a handbrake again youre entire life.

need i go on son?

I'm not fussed either way, but what's the appeal of a manual?

feels like you are pulling away faster at the lights when you make it jerk with a super quick gear change from first to second.

my old dad said these wise words to me on his death bed.
he said,
'son, always remember, be lazy at work and when driving.
dun be lazy in the gym or the scratcher.'

yea isn't like lazy driving the ideal?

I can't remember the last time I drove to Sainsbury's and got home thinking 'I enjoyed that drive'

Was told by a BMW tech once that anything 3.0l or above should be auto as there's so much gear changing necessary, which is especially true with the more recent 7 and 8 speed gearboxes.
My current car is auto and won't go back to manual unless finance dictates otherwise

Rob, Mercs used to be famed for crap manual gearboxes though I'm not sure that is still the case, they definitely hardly make any manuals in comparison to autos -merc factory builds will often upgrade certain things on orders for free if it keeps the production line going. eg. I speciesd flat black paint on my merc to save some dough and it landed with metallic -I was told it probably would when I put the order in. They also quite often send out motors with an auto box in when a manual is ordered by a customer, though I reckon that will be less likely to happen with a cheap as chips finance order than going in through a merc dealer and paying through the nose.
