New Site Feature: Image Galleries

We are ready to test our new site feature: image uploading and hosting. This is a bit of a hybrid of the old moblog gallery and your standard image hosting setup. Under the create content menu, you will see a new item 'image'. Select this and you'll get a variation on the standard form, with a browse button to choose your image, a (compulsory) title field and an optional description field. There is also a popup to choose which gallery you want the image to load into. We might change/add to this list, feedback please. Once the image is posted, you will see a piece of BBCode below it which you (or anyone else) can use to include the image in a post. You can browse the image galleries by following the link in the 'Navigation' left hand menu. You can also add comments to people's images as you can with other content. There is a maximum file resolution of 1024x768 pixels for all images, and a limit per user of 20Mb of storage. We will hopefully up this sometime when we move to a bigger server. Please don't take the piss with this feature: no porno, violence, or copyrighted images. The idea is for us all to show off our creativity. |

So this is strictly for peoples photography only... Pretty cool How about a Photoshops category so we can all upload our Jimmys ? Although I suppose only the forum heads would understand it and regular fuk website viewers would be left confused :/ |

We're not being totally strict about it, but there's no point uploading eg other people's photoshop work. You are of course welcome to upload your own Jimmy mashups - perhaps I'll create a subcat in Random especially for them. |

maybe this feature could allow everyone to keep an up to date picture of themselves on here rather than using this thread.. www.fuk.co.uk/node/45048 is it possible to get more thumbnails on each page? |
