Anybody got anything decent planned? I'm tryng to sort something out at the moment (hiring a hotel in Brighton), its gonna cost about £6000 (which between about 30 people is fuck all).

House parties are out as I haven't got my own house, been looking to see if you can hire an apartment for just NYE but its not looking good at the moment.

Any decent ideas are also appreciated Eye-wink

Hate to piss on your chips, but Fabric NYE will be a nightmare... no doubt the tunes will be quality - but it will be soooo busy in there you will wish you were dead.

Plus at £4 a bottle of beer, you'd find that doing crack will be more appealing.

Rant over.

i was just thinking about this last night, not sure whether to head up to scotland this year...NYE is always poo, so any suggestions to sym will be noted by me also.

my sister is doing some kind of pagan thing, which i'm sure will involve setting fire to something. could be a laugh.

The bar/club I work at is having a James Bond theme for NYE. Guys in suits and girls in their best dresses sort of thing. But I'm going for an interview at some posh cocktail/piano bar today as they were interested in taking me on, which might be a good thing as a lot of staff seemed to think it was worth getting away from the bar I currently work in because of how busy it is at Christmas.

I really can't be arsed with clubs on NYE, sooooo much hassle, always rammed and everyone who doesn't get a kiss at midnight fancies a tear up exactly 6 minutes later.

At the moment I think its destined to flop.

fuk NYE bash anyone?

Don't come through here man, it's shit. I'll be holed up at a house party or I'll go somewhere, anywhere to get away from the tourists and their inane 'Hog-mania in Scotchland is super neat' bollocks.

I know, that's why I'm undecided. But my parents live in Edinburgh, they're moving next year and I've never done the Edinburgh New Year thing, shite as it may well be, so now seems like the time. Glasgow's been a bit shit the past 2 years, and none of us got off our arses to book that cottage near Pitlochry..........

lucky her! depends what she's into

walking - Ben Vrackie is just behind Pitlochry. easy enough walk in the summer but there's snow on it just now (only a sprinkling really when I was there last weekend) if she's not an experienced walker. But if they go across the river on the footbridge there are good forest walks up that hill (sign-posted) and a smallish stone circle http://www.stravaiging.com/history/ancient/site.php?id=100

eating and drinking - the Moulin Hotel is THE place to go http://www.moulinhotel.co.uk just up the back of Pitlochry in the village of Moulin. they have their own brewery, roaring log fires, and the food is amazing - lots of meaty treats (I'm a vegetarian but I have it on good authority). The Scotsman's Bonnet seems to be a favourite with carnivorous friends and relatives I've taken there

can't think of anything else just now, pretty much everything is shut for the winter Laughing out loud

Cheers
Andy
