Anybody got anything decent planned? I'm tryng to sort something out at the moment (hiring a hotel in Brighton), its gonna cost about £6000 (which between about 30 people is fuck all).

House parties are out as I haven't got my own house, been looking to see if you can hire an apartment for just NYE but its not looking good at the moment.

Any decent ideas are also appreciated Eye-wink

@ Paolo, 17 mate, 18 in may.

@ Schtoop, she said she can't, for the same reason I can't go to hers, being with our best friends kind of thing.

My girlfriend has decided that she wants to go for dinner on new years eve - I am presuming that i've left it far too late to get a reservation anywhere. Anyone got an suggestions? Basically want a few drinks in a bar then a meal couple of drinks until it's new year and then fuck off home. Loungelover is all I have been able to come up with but that looks expensive

Dont bother, I had this exact scenario last year. I tried so many resturants and I was shocked at the amount that where closed. Then the ones that where open where fully booked or set menu. Ended up going to Quo Vadis http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/london/view/81090 in Soho as it was the only one we could get at short notice and it was a set menu sit down at 9 and out by 11 for the next sit down. Food was shit felt like we where being rushed and it was 60 a head plus drinks.

I had a shocker but if you get in somewhere you know is good and isnt a set menu then youll probably be alright.

As for this year, going down the beach with a load of friends watch the fireworks then huge party at my place.

Perhaps you can play the 'remember when you poisoned me' card for some New Years sexual favours.

Got 999 on speedial. to be honest new years is usually crap and its usually spent with my mates talking shit which is good but we do it all the time. Such an anticlimax. So Me, her and her flatmate and maybe her other half i think it will be.

Thanks for the advice Snaye - I thought it sounded like a bit of a nightmare idea that would end up being expensive for the sake of it. If I can't find anywhere that isn't a set menu I think i'll try and persuade her to cook and stay in

Sounds like a perfect new year to me. If I had a missus Id do the same. Have a nice meal get drunk and then get the ride and fall asleep and wake up a few hundred quid better off, well fed and empty sacks Cool

I usually spend New Years with friends in Europe somewhere, and we always go for dinner and have had some amazing meals so last year decided to stay in London and it was possibly the worst new year I have had in years and it was the meal that spoiled it. Its put me off ever dining out again on New Year. Was a total waste of time. My advice is stay in and spend your money on more booze or drugs.
