So the NOTW wrote a story at the weekend, a double page spread about a guy who claims to have won £20 million over the last year. His secret, get ready punters.. 'lay the favourite'. http://www.midasoracle.org/2009/06/29/june-28s-betfair-millionaire-story-in-the-news-of-the-world/ This story was written by Simon Ward - this twat: http://twitter.com/simonjward who works in the showbiz dept, reading his twitter for a few minutes, i can work out exactly the sort of dirkhead he is. I dont read the notw or any tabloid. and its shit like this which confirms my choice, how the fuck you can't fact check a story or do a bit of research before going to print amazes me. I was going to just mention it in the random stories thread, but i wanted this to be referenced. Notw have pulled the story from their website and retracted the article. Still, all it takes is a bit of common sense to see it was bullshit in the first place, you dont ask the political correspondent to write an article about big brother so how the fuck can some showbiz twat get commisioned to write about a subject he knows nothing about!! rant over. |

What a twat just read this, not that any proof is needed to show it is all bullshit but Betfairs comments at the bottom sum it up: The biggest winner in the relevant Britain’s Got Talent market (Susan Boyle winner – Yes/No) won less than £3,000. No Betfair customer won £1.5 million or anything even vaguely approaching that amount betting on the Champion Hurdle. No Betfair customer won £500,000 or anything even vaguely approaching that amount laying Monsieur Chevalier at Royal Ascot. The figures shown in the account statement screenshot in the News Of the World do not reconcile to any Betfair account. |
