trying to sort a couple of weeks away with my girlfriend in August. Was thinking a mini tour of Italy. Only been Venice, which cities are a must and any suggestions for places off the beaten track?

In terms of cities Florence and Rome are a must.

i done it same day. went up there the first time with all my deets and queued for hours, and got it.
second time i saw all the bods in front of me doing hundreds and asked what they were doing and they told me they do it for travel agents and get paid, so i went to a travel agent in stanmore at about 4pm and then went back and got it the next day, and let them take all the strain.

How long ago was this mate? As I gather, they don't give out visas to people at the embassy anymore and it's all done by post or online...

Looks like she's fucked then, the gf was meant to be going out there and the dad of the mate she's has got cancer, so she's been off the radar. She's only just gotten back to her and now she needs a visa by the 11th.

Definitely these two, plus Siena for somewhere a bit smaller, Orvieto for a bit further off the beaten track (still in civilisation though).

i had to get a visa in less than a few days because my mate booked the flight pissed, got to the main application centre in london as they dont do it in bham, took roughly 3 days, had to nag them loads and pay extra.. this was 2010

sure they have on arrival now?

was so much hassle getting in back then
