So I have a photo I wanna upload to tinypic or imageshack, but when I do the colours lose vividness and fade.

Is there any way to stop this happening?

Software is exactly the same it's just that you need to prove you're a student.

When you enlarge a bitmap it's always going to look a bit shitter because you're effectively stretching the pixels out.

Upsampling might help a bit, depends how much you're englarging the image by

Try a photoshop plugin called Genuine Fractals from this mob buddy http://www.ononesoftware.com/

Pirate Bay. I go the whole Suite and a working serial....

P.S. I'd be very grateful to anyone who can tell me how to do a graded fill from nothing to a colour. Only know how to do one colour to another...

Add a layer mask and gradient fill it black to white.

When you have the gradient tool selected, look at the options bar below 'File', 'Edit', etc. You'll see a sample of your gradient, click it and you can see the option for colour to no colour; it should be the second one on the top row.
