I'm looking at gettin a 37" Plasma or 32" LCD at the weekend, but what are the advantages of a plasma over an LCD or vice versa?

Cheers

get an LCD... HD

although there isnt that much differnence in the good ones.. iv got a 42 inch sony plasma and some people think its high definition, even the bloke from sky thought it was high defininition

LCD seem to be crisper in general though and thinner, longer life

but in the next year OLEDs are gona come out, i say come out i mean become more widely available... now theyrl be sik iv seen one in the flesh,.. the picture is REDICULOUS,.. the amount of depth in the picture is almost like looking through a window unreal

I have a 42" HD ready plasma, and you do get a little image burn if an image stays on too long, but it goes quickly. but my mate's LCD is a better image, should have got one of them Sad

I've heard the World Cup games are going to get broadcast in HD TV by ITV, how do I pick up HD picture? I do have an HD ready LCD TV before anyone jumps in with that.

Just don't get how it works, is it just broadcast that way and you don't need to do anything or do you need to buy something to get it?

I'd go for an LCD, mine is realy good, even when playing games, it's HD ready and it was fairly cheap.

The only downside is the sound, because it's so thin the speakers can't be very deep and it sounds a bit tinny, but, once you've got it hooked-up to your stereo it's fine.

I've seen some that say 'HD Compatible'. What's that mean? What extras you need to buy to make it work with HD?

Will we be getting HD transmitted through the normal sky digi box? or do we need something extra?
