posting links policy on the forum?

hi!
my first post 
I work as a web developer and at our company we have just built and launched a e-commerce fashion shop for our client, who are a Scottish based boutique chain selling a varied collection.
They stock brands like Noa Noa, Avoca, Farhi, Ugg, loads more.
So getting to the point  , I was wondering if it is OK to post a link on the forums somewhere to the new site?

The official policy is that you can't post links to your own sites. We waive this if the poster is a GJ and you will get away with it if someone asks the 'does anyone know any scottish online stores who stock Noa Noa, Farhi etc', in which case you can pop up with the answer.
The reason for the policy is that otherwise the forums would be rammed with links to people's stores, admittedly mostly chinese nike knockoff shops.

Ah, OK, Ben thanks for replying. The shop is called xxxx - I will let any interested parties google it instead then, or people can PM me.
I totally understand the unwillingness to allow random links, as we run some forums at work for clients and it is a real pain enforcing link protocol with users.

The "cheat code reference" was the fact you posted the shops name without having a GJ

AAA - I didnt post the link - that's what Ben said: it is the link that would be unfair, since it would affect the search engines.
