I am getting increasingly worried about my neck/posture. My gf is adamant that the angle of my neck is worrying.

I wouldn't say its 45 degrees, but its definately not straight up to the sky.

I spend a lot of time in front of a computer, I walk slouched, I HATE standing up straight it makes me feel like an r-tard.

Anyone got any advice as to who I should go to? I think my gp fobbed me off, but I'm not sure whether to see:

a Chiropractor
an Osteopath
a teacher of the Alexander Technique
an 'Acupuncturist'

Start wearing your backpacks on your front.

I would say your doctor initially, but if not a chiropractor's may be able to asses, diagnose you and perform initial treat, but then for posture i wud head down the sports therapy/ physiotherapy route. Alexander Technique, Acupuncture aren't really usual for posture

i'd go and see someone with something to do with medicine (doctor or physio) rather than witch doctors and the like.

Yeah sorry that was my point i would stick to evidence based medicine rather then stuff like the alexander technique, however if it is mechanical rather then postural defects theres nothing a physio etc can do, its a surgery type problem

^^ HA HA! What about Hawking?

May try the chiropractic route by the sounds of things. Not really in pain with it (thats my lower back) but I could do with a straight neck - I don't want to be a mutant turtle.

Slightly off topic, is it true if that you're not very supple, you have tight tendons which means as you get older, you'll shrink?

I'm about as supple as a white old man.
