Because if letting him go is the difference between qualifying for the Champions League or not, it's a no brainer. They Stand to lose more money than they'd receive for him by not qualifying. Especially if it drags on til the end of the window and there's no time to replace him. Although the 3 new signings all look good and are exciting, they are still unproven in the prem. Plus there's the matter of pride.

This is Arsenal we're talking about Laughing out loud

It amazes me the amount of money Liverpool have to splurge on complete gash.

thing is at utd, RVP would be a great addition, but without a creative centre mid to ping world class passes through to him and rooney we are not getting the most of either, united needed a world class creative mid and defensive mid, we so far have not picked up wither which is my great concern for next season.

Would you have Cabaye at United? I always seem to be hearing that United are interested in him.

Ben arfa is the player I'd like to see at United. Think as he matures he could be a great central AM

True say, but I reckon or hope we sign a midfielder along with rvp, erikkson, moutinho, ganso someone like that, I'd be shocked if we didn't after that season's embarrassing European campaign. Regardless of them cunts the glazers, the debt, their is money available, we did bid for hazard/moura!

It's been said before Noble, I'm not so sure myself, but I can see the reasoning behind it

My thoughts entirely. Can see Rooney in MF and RVP and Welbeck/Chicharito up top

Not sure rooney has the discipline to be a midfielder. Agree he has the skills (still cant go past a player) but he still plays like a kid at times.

I don't get why he can't go past a player anymore, he used to do it at ease in his first 2 or 3 seasons and it's not like he's had any Owen-like hamstring injuries that has robbed him of pace.

I'm in the "Rooney isn't that good" camp also. Can't remember him at all turning a big game around or even turning up for the national side? Poor professional aswell.

Note: I only watch scums when we play them so actually don't know how he plays that often, but compared to the worlds best, as in players in Champs League, euro's an that, no chance, and whoever in the media was saying he's top 3( Laughing out loud ) they are wrong.

hes the best british footballer and has been in years. so that makes him a great. not a messi or ronaldo great, buts that best ever in the world kind of great, there is a difference.
only a great player could of executed that goal he scored.

Agreeing with Noble here. He's a completely different type of player to the likes of Ronaldo and Messi, but in terms of tenacity and his ability to win a match, Rooney is a 'great'.
