What is happening with the M'Bia Barton swap deal?

The problem with QPR is the midfield is too attack minded, which leaves the defence exposed. And to be fair, none of the centre halfs are really strong enough when teams will get that space and be able to attack quickly. M'Bia would be a very good signing for that reason as he can play as a CH or defensive mid.

From outside looking in QPR have constantly got rid of the team that got them in this position and look for big money/profile players to try and create a successful team. All moving a little bit to quick, no foundations of the team are there and it almost back fired last year and the constant additions cannot be helping this time round at this point.

Why don't England produce defensive midfielders? The last really good one we had was Hargreaves, and he was virtually German.

Because we stuck to 4-4-2 and the box to box midfielder for about 10 years longer then the rest of Europe. Although saying that it wasn't that long ago we had a midfield two of Batty and Ince.

Patrick Vieira and Gilberto Silva managed well enough in a 4-4-2.

I was commenting on Carls comment on instantly replacing Clint Hill with another fairly big name signing. It has been one game, exactly.

everyone who wins the league these days does exactly what you are saying we shouldnt do.
albeit they do it on much grander scale with better and younger players, but they want more from the outcome. we only need and want premiership safety and regularity. which im sure we will get.
barton has to come back and fast.

no, mid table which they will be one million per cent..
hence the additions of hoilett and park etc.
and yeah, if hughes and when does that and the odd cup run, hes basically got a job for life as long as he wants it. ala moyes etc.

Well considering we have had considerable assets and money taking out the playing squad then it is a distinct possibility. All players had to sign a new contract last week to agree to a 75% deduction in player bonuses. Down to £250 max appearance bonus now. Whole squad will be on less the Nedum weekly so it is all relative, least we managed a point away from home Eye-wink. Now Noble has cleared up mid table then the investment is justified not a repeat on last year.
