I think you need to man up and stop sounding such a dramatic wimp. I liked you better when you were an aggressive nutcase.

farrel- huh? of course not Laughing out loud

andy and font-i understand that it wasn't solely jews that were persecuted and that hitler was fueled by the obsession of creating a master RACE. however, the fact that they made jews wear stars of david surely shows more than a race based persecution?

and i was about to include hitlers de christianization of germany to my argument. how does him hating religion cancel out any religious aspect of the war? is that not a religious aspect in it's self? it's just not one religion persecuting or abolishing another.

I see religion now as a sign of mental weakness and i feel it needs to be ridiculed. If somebody insisted to me that Santa was real and delivered gifts to every child in the world on the night of the 24th then I'd laugh and point at them. I see no difference with those that have a god.

Eliot - the original point came from EVERS' assertion that "most wars are fought in the name of religion".

World War II was not fought in the name of religion.

Yes you can argue that there were religious aspects to it, but it was not fought in the name of religion and cannot be claimed as a religious war.

i have had many and what I have learned (and know), is that it all starts with the man in the mirror (no michael jackson).

A lot of poeple can't handle the fact, and it is a fact, that God is real. Part of the problem with their non-belief is that they have a 'seeing is believing' attitude and even when they do see an act of God (miracle) they do not believe... God tells us in scripture this will happen to many non-believers.. Guido is a classic example of someone who cannot see God so he mocks God.

Im not saying I will automatically go to heaven, I have to practise what I preach. I'm a bit of a preacher on here (God wants people to spread the word to those who haven't received it)... wish I had the balls to do it my in real life rather than stay quiet.

God is a cunt mr X. Although if David Koresh was a god to some maybe you could follow his teachings? Eye-wink

there's only one true faith and that's of those who believe in friends and family. After that nothing else is really important. The weak of mind will tell you otherwise.

so you think all christians (you mention the bible) are formed in their infancy. you're implying that no adult has ever converted in his life

Don't front guido, you don't always do it. If someone said they were a muslim to you, you wouldn't mock them right there. You're just being a knob on the internet.

I do half agree with you on this

Nope as some do but most follow the religion that they're told to when growing up. Brainwashed idiots that they are.

I would. I dislike the beliefs of Muslims and Catholics probably most of all religions if I had to choose but in the main I find all religion massively distasteful. It's caused a lot of compromise by me in my life due to the believes of family through death and births but my thoughts are known to all I care about. Religion is part of our society but I see it as a left over relic that still has an effect in a lot of our loves today. Only by saying it's nonsense will that change and that has been going on for years.

are you equally damning and self righteous of all religions guido?

Buddhism or Hinduism for example?

The majority of arguments on here seem to be christianity vs atheism.

you're Irish yeah? Sorry but you may as well stick an old mans cock up your arse and tell yourself that god thinks you're a special boy.

Other than that what trauma has led you to seek 'god'?

guido, what about people who havent come into contact with any religion in particular but have a belief in a power higher than science, and have found like wise people. their belief would constitute a religion. would you consider them brainwashed also?

there's no heaven, god or any of that, so i'd just focus on being a decent person if i were you.

why do folk need a banner to walk under?

if god really was real and he was harry hill, i'd probably sign up for a laugh but all the pious crap and dodgy modern hymns is just desperate. i say those who enjoy their belief are welcome to it.
