What were the EG jackets? Just the style will do if you don't know the names! Cheers.

if you're desperate to buy hermes in a sample sale, then you shouldn't be wearing it.

it's something that's supposed to imply that you live a certain sort of lifestyle. it's a thin basic colour belt with a H on the front that costs 100s or even thousands of pounds that's made by quite possibly the most elitist brand that currently exists. you're not paying for it because you like the design let's be honest, if it was brandless and nobody knew about it then you would not pay that much for the design, regardless of the materials used. you're simply buying into a brand name and you want to show it off. seems a bit silly to try and show off with something so expensive when you can't back it up with anything? if it was something that cost that much but you genuinely liked the design of then fair enough, but you don't.
example scenario 1:
you're in a club and some rich gold-digging chick goes up to you and says she saw your hermes belt and likes it, you get into conversation and she asks what you do and you're like "lol i bought it cus i want to show off and make people think im a baller, im not actually rich."
example scenario 2:
same as above but let's say you're wearing a current season rick owens jacket that sold out really fast or something. you reply to her question with "i actually have an interest in fashion and wanted to get it before it sold out as id probably never be able to get it again" (as opposed to hermes belts which will be there forever)
which scenario would make you look stupid? keep in mind that if you aren't baller then people will also question its authenticity which could make you seem even more stupid. there are plenty of people with fake hermes around, how will they know you aren't just another one of them?

of course, how could i forget
tl;dr version:
buying hermes to show off if you aren't rich is stupid 'cause you can get exposed for what you really are and made to look like a retard

The Hermes sample sale is usually full of shite, the highlight for men is a load of b-squad ties for marginally less than retail. Better off paying full price and getting something you want. If you expect to see an Hermes belt, an item constantly sold out across their stores, in the sale you're deluded. It'll be crap they couldn't sell in the last sale and a bit more on top.

Hermes very rarely has good bargains in their sales. As the above posters said, it is full of stuff not only from last season but in fact years back. So much that don't be surprised to see jackets , shirts and ties that date back to the nineties.
They sometimes have shoes, trainers or sandals which are half price but that's about the extend of worthy stuff for mensware.

Reporting back from the Hermes sample sale...
I only went to see ties, and they were reduced to £80. Most were recent collection, but still too dear for me for work ties.
Other clothing included jackets, knitwear, etc. most stuff was half price, but taking into account the ridiculous margin on the OG price, still very expensive.
Full of Europeans, also.
