Anybody on here ride a scooter? Looking for one for the commute to work. Wanted a Vespa but they are pretty pricey. Tempted by this Tamoretti, anyone got any experience of them?

Would love a PX shedboy - you but it new or used?

AAA - Just over £1k on the road so less than half the price of a Vespa. Basically a cheap chinese import but I am thinking what really can go wrong with it.

Also not sure whether to do CBT/Test and get a 125 or just get a 50 as would mainly be for getting to work which is a couple of miles away, one the flat, mainly 30 limits.

i asking loads of guys with years of experience and i was told you would have to expect to spend just over a grand for a decent px 125. Mines was 1200 second hand look at scootertrader.com always loads on there. If you buy second hand ask the owner to put it through an mot which you will pay if it passes, it will only cost 15 quid

I think you're best with a 125 just incase you fancy a drive somewhere someday you can't go wrong with a more powrful machine

I know nothing about scooters, but aren't you going to be better off buying a used Vespa simply because of the resale value compared to the Tamoretti?

Yeah Vespa makes sense from a re-sale point of view but the Tamoretti is so cheap I wouldn't really worry abour re-sale. Spose the question is a new chinese bike or a second hand Vespa cos I don't want to spend much more than a grand.

Vespa or lambretta don't bother with chinese bikes as they are generally wank and more than likely cost you more in the long run.

£1100 on the road. You speaking from experience Subfunktion? Don't expect the quality to be as good as a Vespa but are they really that bad?

PM Mod culture

Anyway, do you just need to do a CBT for a scooter cos I'm not taking my car to Uni so a scoote might be a good idea.

"50cc – You don’t need to take any further tests if you have a full UK driving licence taken before 1st February 2001. Otherwise you will need to take a CBT. 125cc you will need to take a CBT test"
