Shipping to the USA

Yo,
Anyone ever shipped to our overseas cousins before?
I'll be shipping shoes and I just wanted to know:
- Who would be best to use? (Royal Mail, DHL, etc)
- Which is the cheapest method that X has?

Royal Mail International Signed For
Its an extra £3.50 on top of the standard airmail price, but gives you some cover and a tracking number right to their door

How heavy is it? Over a couple of kilos and it might well be cheaper to use one of the sites that has cheap courier slots, parcelmonkey, interparcel etc

Regular size weight i'd guess around £15 - 20 signed for.
