Just came into 1.5k and have nothing to do with it for the foreseeable future so I figure I might buy some bank stocks and see what happens, figure it's worth the possibility of the whole lot going down the drain for the profits if/when the banks go back up. Can anyone reccommend a basic broker? Halifax brokers seem alright?

TDWaterhouse will sort you out. Otherwise try Hargreaves Lansdown.

Does anyone trade on here? I'm not expecting a massive response from a fashion forum but some of the best ideas for stocks have come from brands I like etc. Asos posted increased profits of 119% the other day as " their customers would rather eat baked beans than miss out on the next trend". I think they will go up and up.
I use ADVFN and thenakedtrader.co.uk a lot, really good sites. For those getting into it. read "the naked trader" by robbie burns. No homo/no spam.
looking at the first post, duffman I really hope you didnt buy into banks in November, wont have much of your 1.5k left now
