I'm out here in Finland until the end of November.

Maybe someone on here can help me with information about nightlife in Helsinki?
Also, are there any good online stores that are in Finland or deliver to Finland?

you can get cheap(ish) tickets from Helsinki to St Petersburg, would recommend doing that if you want see somewhere really different before you come back

getting a visa while in Finland might be a bit of a hassle though - you'd have to go through the British Embassy there

Seeing the Baltic States is highly recommended. The booze cruises from Helsinki to Tallinn are worth doing, given the horrific alcohol prices in Finland.

There used to be some good bars around the Annankatu/Frederinkatu area.

Can we go on the day or do you book well in advance?
The locals have told me I could probably get cheap deals for the cruises in the newspapers?
Are these deals ever online?

Cheers!

I lived in Helsinki 10 years ago so this might be out of date but the ferry offices where you could book tickets for the booze cruises to Tallinn used to be on Mannerheimintie, up past Stockmann's. We used to go on the day as well but I think it depends on seasonal demand

The tourist information office on one of the Esplanadi's were always really helpful, might be worth starting out there looking for info, especially if you don't speak Finnish! They always used to point in the right direction for deals
