Looked for a sweatshirt thread, couldn't find one.

Looking for recommendations for a quality, simple, modern fit loopback light grey plain sweatshirt.

How do Real McCoys and Buzz Ricksons fit, TTS? Best quality I've tried so far has been MHL - Made in UK loopback sweats from a few years back were fantastic quality but really huge fit, properly vintage.

Recommended stores too please. Preferably around a ton or less. Ta.

I noticed aprevious thread about MKI store. No, I'm not the owner. I just came across them from the Internet. I saw the pictured sweatshirt. Like the quality of the material, it is much better than most on the high street. Because it is different, I wanted to recommend it to others who may also be looking for something different.

You're quite right in that I have a fetish. It's not just sweatshirts. I like buying all kinds of clothes. For all occasions. Jeans, dark striped shirts, sometimes with a v neck, and of course, sweatshirts. I've got to the point where I'm stopping. I have no room, and I want something big like an ipad.

Thanks lads for the info. Jc91 tipped Velva Sheen (cheers). Copped one, great fit, raglan sleeves, slightly wider neck hole and shortish in the body. Fleece finish inner, not loopback, 10% polyester.

Had a Reigning Champ from UO and backed it, fit was shit and quality poor for the money. The UO version is not the same as the regular RC line, it was 50% poly and felt like it. Avoid.

The Carharrts are good for the money, size one up in Chase, fairly full cut in body.

I got a RC sweat from UO and its 91% cotton 9% polyester (elasticated cuffs etc) so not sure thats correct for the plain grey sweats at least.

Fair few OL sweats up on eBay at the mo, worth a look. Also some of the Garbstore 'men who did' 50's motor sweats from last year up for grabs at a good price too

This sweat link says:

'Inspired by athletic wear from the '40s and '50s, when sweats fit as if they were tailored for you'

I thought 40s and 50s wear was looser/boxier fitting?!

Blue Marlin made great negro leagues sweatshirts way back. vintage style, thick, heavy, fitted nice and huge. they still around?

edit: yikes just checked their page and they haven't changed for the better. they don't even do crewnecks anymore, just really bad looking track jacket/hoody things. anyway in the mid '90s they used to do great quality sweats, in black, burgundy, dark green and gray with negro leagues teams on them. A shop in Sydney used to get them in and sell them next to Japanese Evisu and Redwings, didn't look out of place. shame what they're doing now.

Wings and horns sweatshirts fit slightly slim and short. Ive got a summer weight sweat in a large and I usually take a medium in other brands
