Tipping question....

In an attempt to prevent myself becoming the stingy Scot I am destined to become, I would like to ask a question:

When tipping a hairdresser do you give 15% of the price of the haircut or 15% of the total bill?

I only ask because I went a bit overboard on products and received a look that it was not the tip she was expecting.

first off they shouldn't 'expect' a tip... i usually just give em a few quid...

yessir luke.. in britain, dont tip unless your a regular or the service is good enough to warrant a tip. %20 of the haircut is the norm i think.. in barbers, its normally a couple of quid.

my pal cuts my hair but he only charges me a fiver so i give him a tenner on top. he spends a good hour on me and gives the worlds best fade.

shame he just got 18 months! now its gonna cost me a fortune!

but i think a fiver is good enough.

so you get your hair cut in toni and guy? dont you find it overpriced for no real reason?
when my hair was long i used to get it cut there but then i found another gaff that was 'trendyer' and cheaper. i got alot better haircuts and service. there a bit rude in some toni and guys.

no she comes round she used to be a 'special friend' so we sort out payment as and when Eye-wink Not worth paying rape prices for a hair cut imo
