I'd pay more for laces regardless of low / high, but I'm not a 'slip on' person. Saying that, I found three pairs of lows that I bought last christmas (JD sale shop, B'ham) that I forgot about. Oops

Tempted by these but the price is ridiculous. No real justification for charging £80 and nearly £20 shipping is adding insult to injury, can imagine changing my mind if I see them in the flesh though.

They were going for around £70-£80 inc shipping from the states not so long back. Snooze you lose Sad

Yeah, I thought about getting a pair when they came out, worked out to just under £80 shipped B.I.N. always a chance of getting hit by customs though.
Plus, I've got about 10-15 pairs of Vans and I think the most I've ever paid is £38, and that was for leather lasered slip-ons, £80 for canvas seems ludicrous. The ting about Vans is they've been going for so long and relased so many styles there's always nice pairs to be picked up cheap, makes paying over the odds even harder.

Just got mine.

The box weighs a fucking ton. The sneaks themselves seem really top notch aswell, quite heavy compared to my normal skate hi-s. It's justified!

What do they come with then, why are they so heavy?
TBH I couldn't care less about fancy boxes, rather they came in a paper bag and cost less!

I suppose your right G_G. Maybe heavy box was something to deter resellers even, I dunno, random guess. It goes with the whole military theme w)taps have going - Heavy duty military goods (correct me if im wrong, milspex).

The box is mega heavy, includes a small booklet about the vans syndicate collabs, some heavy duty dustbag which must be made out of nuke-proof blast door material, and the sneaks themselves, which weigh a ton.

On a side note, they are a wee bit snug - but only a tiny bit. If i remove the insoles, will this decrease the life of the shoe in any way, during day to day wear?

Removing the insoles shouldn't make any difference, might want to get a pair of thin leather insoles for comfort.
TBH I'm guessing if you're buying these then you're the sort of person who has quite a few pairs of sneakers, in which case I'd be surprised if any of them ever suffer heavy wear, rotation normally ensures they stay looking OK.

Thanks for the advice. TBH I have about 4-5 true "Hype sneaks", the rest is just cheap shit I got from TKmaxx/ JD outlet.

i saw these in the flesh in fp today.

they're definitely a nice shoe, but as was said above £80 on a pair of slip on vans is a lot of money.
