What bands are cool now?

I`m 29 and dont know whats cool anymore. Whats a cool fucken band that rocks thesedays? what`s today`s equivalent to say Dinosaur Jr or The Real Kids or At the Drive In? Like just a straight up rock band.? |

Bat for lashes album was probably my favourite of last year. Not very rock though Edit: Obviously you wanna get the new KOL album. But that goes without saying. |

Bat for lashes album was probably my favourite of last year. Not very rock though didn't read MilSpex's post properly out of my list then, only Archie Bronson Outfit, Arcade Fire, Guillemots, Bonde do Rolê, The Sounds, and maybe Cansei de Ser Sexy could be considered in any way to be rock how about these MilSpex? Kings Of Leon I can do a Yousendit of a selection if you like? |

The bands that are seen as cool at the moment are: LCD Soundsystem ..anyone that calls themselves nu rave or uses cow bells. I am not a big fan of any of these bands. I tend to listen to new wave/synth-pop/post-punk from the 80's. One current band that im liking just now though are The Knife. |

Like just a straight up rock band.? man what youv mentioned there and what everyones mentioned below are so far apart still, trust me you're still way ahead of the game... DJ et ATDI ,.... are faaarr superior to 95% of whats coming out now but that other 5% are bands who dont play such music as the above... there arnt any realy good new hardcore bands,.. okay maybe bands like the scare and whirlwind heat, but hardly in the same leauge to be honest |

Not a big rock fan, but HADOUKEN! are pretty cool, im my opinion of course. |
