One of my bestest buddies is turning the corner marked "30" next weekend and we have planned a trip away for everyone. We have left no stone unturned in organising this, save for a decent present. We have all chipped in and have approx £300 (at least) to spend.
The lucky sonofabitch is heading off round the world for a year in September, so does any FUK'r have any honourable suggestions of generic presents. I appreciate none of you know him etc or would even want to, but somebody in my group suggested flying lessons? Anyone tried this? Worth a punt?
Thx.

what about a digi camera if he's going round the world

or change it all up into various currencies and let him dip into a few brasses in each country

a ticket holder from smythson would be nice, the rest of the cash could go towards indulgence as mase said

Y'know, if someone bought me a flying lesson, I'd be proper pi$$ed as well, I almost wanted someone to confirm that.
He has a quality SLR digital camera, so no need there. He is also minted, so monetary donations would have little impact. He has skydived before and is doing it again on his travels.
Just looking for something a little off kilter.
Should probably just get him some morally ambigious strippers and watch the predictably priceless look on his lady's Chevy!
