Anybody in the know on deals or what make/model I should look for?

It's something I have no idea on. Is HD ready really necessary? LCD? Any particular make or web-site people recommend or to avoid?

Budget £500 and Max size 32"

Cheers

Defo go for HD ready. That samsung is nice. Any of those samsung's are particularly good. I've found that 32" seems to be similar price if not less than the smaller sizes.

Sorry Oops the other halves brother just brought himself a swishy 42 inch Panny plasma a few weeks ago too and the Samsung LCD is way better .

The plasma has a lot os smearing and digital artifacts on screen , not good for what he paid , but there again he is a rich bastard Laughing out loud

Yeah, my younger brother bought an LCD HD TV from Aldi and its got a better picture than my 42" plasma HD TV sony which is about 8 months old!! Gutted. think he paid £390 for 32" compared to mine which was £2500. Terrible.

Cant be arsed to take a pic ... But with my wall bracket its 2.5 inches out from the wall ... Maybe you could track a wall bracket that would reduce that amount even more?

32" or less 768 is ok, >32" you want 1080.

As 768 is obsolete there are plenty or bargains out there.

Toshiba 26wlt66 £499 - this is good choice.

Anyone heard anything similar?

I mean 1080 vetical resolution in general.

1080p is obviously preferable to 1080i but to the eye there is little difference, its a technical thing twice the bandwidth etc.

Its mostly for projectors when you get up to very large sizes you cant see the interlace lines (cinema uses progressive)
