just get a vintage anything and you will be good to go. just as long as its vintage you will get props from nerds and nan kids from the internet. and lets face it, thats all that matters isnt it?

The are very few new watches in the £800-1500 range worth buying that won't be worth more than £500 after you've taken it out the box and put it on the wrist. Either spend less or go vintage. The Datejust was a good shout too.

i've never even spoke to jordan but after looking in that thread you make it sound like he's some pervert intruding into peoples private images when infact they are displayed on the internet (by photobucket) openly for the whole world to see as they wish?

not true, most people dont realise that you have to make them private for the world not to see.

Anyone with a 1665/1680 etc (dee?) replaced the bezel without going to a watchsmith?, easy/hard? Any how-to for dummies online?

This might be helpful

Also have a look on rolexforums, I'm sure I've seen a tutorial on there a while back

All the talk of the president bracelet has me toying with the idea of trading my Calibre de Cartier up and getting a 18k Daydate. 41mm is out of reach for now, but found a 36mm in near mint condition from a dealer over here (bearing in mind it's 20 years old) for around £5600, which is a steal really. Only real concern whether it sits a little small on the wrist at 36mm, or whether that doesn't matter as you have a big chunk of president gold around the wrist Smiling

Was similar condition to this...

Thoughts?

The only thing that should matter is whether it matters to you, though you will almost always get a much better deal getting a second hand watch. Have to consider that like a car, most watches will depreciate 20-40% as soon as it's used.

Have a look here for IWC.

He isn't slow calling for a ban on others yet is allowed to make derogatory personal statements about others with no comeback. Did the same to me before I was banned but kept deleting what he had written once I had replied making me look like a complete dick. I had to forward some of his PMs to Brad as they were totally outrageous.
