As Dee said, quickset is different to jump date.
Jordan's problem is the date jumping (going for a day to another in a snap at midnight), the quickset is the third position on the crown allowing the change the date without going through all hours.

For example, my 1986 168000, which needs a service, still does the jump date but the quickset is broken (the quickset position only changes time).

the quickset works fine..
1st position winds it
2nd position changes date
3rd does the hands

ive not actually watched it at midnight, so cant say for sure... i'll do that tonight.
the problem is at about 10am, its still not fully showing the date, as in its not centered.
when i manually change the date, it does center however

Yes, there is a problem with the jump Smiling
When you quickset, does the date jump ?

Did you changed the date backward ?

when i manually change it, the date jumps yeah.
i dont think i did, maybe when i first got it..? everywhere online says that shouldnt damage it though. well, if you wind it the wrong way it doesnt change the date, so cant actually change it the wrong way

It shouldn't but it's better not to try Smiling (btw on highly complicated watch it can really cause damages)
You can change the date the wrong way by changing the hours the wrong way.

I believe that your watch needs a watchmaker to service it Smiling

didnt he say the watch had just been serviced?
i do advocate second had watches, but only a couple of years old.
not into this birth date stuff. as sentimental as it is, its a world of pain.

Always seem to go against your grain locks. Got a 75 which was Rolex serviced, within - 2 secs a day, all original mech, original silver date wheel, clicks spot on. No quickset which can be a bitch if rotating watches but as a daily no probs. Apart from the new LV I would always go for an older model in subs.

Jordan if it clicks nicely when changing manually but moves slowly when the watch is worn it sounds like a service issue. Take it in to your local AD and ask for their opinion and ask for an approximate quote for service but be honest with them and say you have a warranty from the seller. If you are covered under a warranty and there is an issue then ask the seller to send the watch for another service to correct the problem. It may not have had a proper service before you purchased it, it's possible he stretched the truth but I wouldn't approach him on that. If you explain you have had an opinion from an AD and would like the function looked at then you shouldn't have much of a prob.

on my phone, so cant see the pic, but has it got a quirky rascal twist. say like the little hand being the big hand, or the numbers all being swapped about, the 3 where the 7 should be etc?
im guessing yes. Smiling

It's nice... without the angled dial and bit less writing would have been spot on.

i watched my watch last night coming up to midnight, bang on 12 when the second hand swooped around, it 'clicked' to change the date, but got stuck half way. so its obviously fucked/needs servicing.
glad i got the warrenty, hope he sorts it for free and isnt a smeagle about it
