Basically he was displaying barely controlled rage that someone with, as he put it, such a "colourful" business past was allowed to take over Rangers.

But also over the fact that David Murray allowed an illegal practice to go on for 11 years despite seemingly knowing it was wrong, ignoring the potentially disastrous consequences.

Speirs is a self confessed Rangers fan

This is absolute bollocks, Spiers says he's a Rangers fan because it gives him a licence to say whatever the fuck he likes about the club/its fans without recourse.

Interesting read here

Them folding would solve so many problems in Scottish football IMO, it would take a hit but a slow building process back to how the game was mid 80s.

now this is a massive shout, but if i had a few million i'd buy rangers, and fold the company.
apply for the bottom league in english football, then you can sell your own tv rights, although its gunna be the lowest form of football, you are gunna get some mugs buying the tv rights.
you will still get a decent turnout at ibrox, so you could still have a decent matchday income. you might still be able to keep some of the commercial deals, but if not, im sure rangers fans would still sell a shit load of shirts compared to anyone in and around that level.
so with a fire sale of all the current squad, you would still have some decent cash, keep a couple of the 10/15k pwk earners, so that you can almost guarantee yr after yr promotion, and a decent run in the fa cup.

as soon as you was to do it, celtic would follow, so then you would even have your old firm game every year to boot.

its a ten year+ plan, but if they keep a float in scotland then they are gunna be going in and out of administration for 5 yrs and the SPL rights wouldnt be worth anything as its a one horse race.
so in 5 yrs they could be in exactly the same position, after winning nothing and having to sell there best players as the tv rights deal was picked up by bravo for a tenner.... or they could be in the conference of the english leagues.

i said a few weeks ago, i thought that was whytes intentions all along was to fold the club and try and merge it with an english team in trouble(pompey) to get into the prem. Genius thinking but i think impossible Laughing out loud

One hell of a merger geographically Laughing out loud

They can't get into the Scottish lower leagues, the only way they can play in Scotland is if the new company is allowed into the SPL in place of Rangers immediately. That would be the absolute end of Scottish football.

geographically? they would obviously have to play in the northern divisions to start with, then is it that much different than going to plymouth, exeter, portsmouth, sunderland or newcastle?

swansea and cardiff both played in the welsh leagues before joining the english leagues. and there are welsh leagues and a welsh fa.
id be more surprised if the english fa said no than yes. it would pump so much needed money into lower league football.
the tv revenue for the conference would probably double/triple, for the year they would be in it.

Celtic will have to make huge cuts in time too. What's the point having guys on £35k a week when your closest competitors highest earner is on £1.5k

I hope they fold and the SPL dies then merges with the English leagues.

Scottish prem teams like Rangers and Celtic could easily play in the Championship and travelling wouldn't be an issue - they get a good crowd and tv rights so would the other teams like Hearts, Dundee/Aberdeen who could play div 1. Whats left might as well not play for their respective clubs and all players compete in a X-factor style battle to be in the wild card entry to div 2.

The potential £75M HMRC are gonna hit them with for their use of EBT's. No one is gonna buy them with that hanging over their head as they'll be liable.

So like I said, "it's never gonna happen" you twat.

When I write x-factor battle I don't mean singing I mean some judges (burlusconi, pele and some other shits bexkenbauer and jack charlton if he's not dead) pick teams and they fly to Switzerland to play a mini tournament.
